Well done. Like the James Brown - Peters/Reid near the end.

If I have time maybe I'll face swap the sail barge assault with Chiefs and Patriots.

Clay, it's a shame you didn't go into music, dude. You have an incredible talent for understanding and directing video footage to fit the narrative of existing music. It's seamless and perfect. The work of a professional.

All Clay had at his disposal to line up with those moments and ups and downs in the drama of the music was video footage. That's it. From one NFL game. And he himself had to tell a narrative with that footage.

Stuff had to line up perfectly. He couldn't use Chiefs footage if the music was dour and unstable, and he couldn't use Patriot footage if the music was triumphant. It had to be pieced together expertly, and it was.

Much harder than it looks. I know guys who do fan videos of shit like Game of Thrones, which involve nothing more than a generic song with no changes of mood or style. There's no contrast or tension in the song. And they get SEASONS worth of material to piece in. They can basically do whatever they want. And those videos I've seen just plain LOOK amateurish. They're ****ing boring. Even if you like the song and you're a huge fan of Game of Thrones, the video STILL ****ing sucks because it doesn't ****ing say anything. There's no storytelling going on. Zero. You're watching scenes of a show you've already seen. There's no spectacle like there is in football. You're not being awed or drawn in through the physical battle. You COULD do it, yes, but they don't because they don't know how to pick music and they don't know how to arrange footage that will heighten what people are listening to.

Clay was an artist with some insane limitations placed on him. He was working with a difficult problem to solve and made it look beautiful. In this video, the music tells the story. It says all we need to know. If we didn't have any Mitch Holthus commentary in the background, it'd STILL be a gorgeous video and relatable to the viewer.

Do you people want to know why everybody has loved Clay's highlight videos ever since he started making them? EVEN THE PEOPLE WHO HATE HIM?

It's not because they like the Chiefs. Any ****ing moron can piece together a fan video. Clay doesn't make highlight videos. Highlight videos are nice, but it doesn't earn you the reputation he has for turning grown ass men into drooling crack addicts for his shit. His videos have personal touches. Classy personal touches. They make you care about a game or a season or a player ALL OVER AGAIN. He documents what happened and he does it in a visceral way. And he doesn't do it just by going highlight-highlight-highlight with shitty rap music in the background.

Wanna know why people hate watching most player highlight videos? Because the dickbrains who put them together don't get that folks are watching for a SPECIFIC purpose. They just want the facts. They want to see what the player can do. They DON'T WANT to listen to shitty rap music on top. If they did, they'd want something more than random highlight shit strewn together.
