24 discussion thread (spoilers, obviously)
24 is back tonight at 7:00 CST. Anybody watch this?

I got into it at the start of last season. I don't really watch any TV except sports, but it hooked me. Tune in if you have nothing better to do... it roxxors.

Just Tivo 24, then when you have insomnia you can watch 2 or 3 episodes in a row and fall asleep on one of them.

"24" to return Jan. 13, move to Washington and ditch CTU

Listen up, "24" fans. Big changes await you when the thriller returns Jan. 13.

CTU has been disbanded, and the show moves to Washington, where Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will face trial for his actions last season. But here's a big shocker: Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard) is coming back.

How? He was left for dead in the CTU infirmary, Fox notes. Executive producer Howard Gordon explains: "Tony's uncertain fate near the end of Day 5 left the door open for his return. And since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance -- the '24' tribute to a major character's demise -- we always kept this as a possibility."

The bigger issue: Can "24" get its groove back?

Last season was the weakest after the extraordinary season five, which brought the show the best-drama Emmy.

In an encouraging sign, the show will add fine actors next season. Tony-winner Cherry Jones, who appeared in "Doubt," will play the U.S. president, and Colm Feore will be her husband. Bob Gunton will be the White House chief of staff. Janeane Garofalo will play an FBI agent.

Other FBI agents will be played by Annie Wersching ("General Hospital"), Jeffrey Nordling ("Dirt") and Rhys Coiro ("Entourage"). John Billingsley of "Prison Break" will play a security specialist.

Returning actors include Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe O'Brian and James Morrison as Bill Buchanan.

Fox says "24" will start with a two-hour premiere, from 8 to 10, on Jan. 13. Then the show moves to its regular slot, 9 p.m. Mondays, on Jan. 14.

Fans just hope it moves back into peak form.
