[KC taking a QB #1] "I say absolutely no chance of that happening." -Mel Kiper

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:8925376

Says it around 3:45

I prefer Mayock over at NFL for my mock drafts, but Kiper is smart enough and cares enough about his reputation to not make a statement like that unless he absolutely believes in it.

I wasn't around as much back then, but for me at this point, I like Geno more for how he fits into Reids system than just him as a prospect.

When you add him as a prospect to what he could be in this offense is what i'm excited about.

I just wish I could find some odds on where I can bet Geno at #1 to the Chiefs...I bet right now we're looking at like 5:1. I want to slap $100 or so on that.

Especially when it's being thrown around that they are going to make the same mistake that all the others have.

Some people, I remember them, at the time said SP had little to do with the Pats success. All I've heard is how valuable Dorsey was. Sure it might not work, but I guess, knowing what Reid already is, makes it easier for me to get on board.

I didn't like Clausen, and strongly believed that Sanchez needed a year, at the very least, on the bench.

And on an unrelated question, what happened to the dumbass that startexd this t5hread?

I was 100% right about Damon Huard being a better QB for that Chiefs team than Trent Green. 100%.

I never once said Huard was good. Not once.

I said, with team, with that LT...the only QB that could win games for us was the guy who didn't make reads and just forced the ball to Bowe and *especially* Gonzalez.

100% right.

Trent Green was a system QB that ran the Vermeil system to perfection but he needed a line that gave him A TON OF TIME (a la Brady's line in NE) to go through his progressions because he would never force the ball...which is good and bad.

we used to run a play action, fake double reverse, HB screen...it was insane.

Right, it's why I don't see Cassel, or Alex Smith being the QB for this team. Reid will want his QB.

None of these experts know ANYTHING about what the Chiefs right now. Why? Because Reid and Dorsey themselves have no clue who they want to pick right now.

When people say "I've heard from a good source that the Chiefs like Joeckel a lot" it probably is true. We probably do like his talent. That doesn't mean he is the frontrunner. It just means he is under consideration. Here is the truth about his process as of right now...

As of right now there is no frontrunner to be our first pick.

Our team doesn't know anything about these guys yet, except the players at the Senior Bowl, because they spoke with/watched them in person.

The combine will be a huge determining factor obviously.

The only thing we do know at this moment is this: they are looking for a QB. They said it publicly. And it depends on the way you take it. When they said "we've got to find that next Lenny Dawson", that to me says "we need to scout and draft a QB".

Whether that means we'll take that QB with the first pick is debatable.

Wasn't a huge Sanchez or Clausen fan but loved Stafford and still think he can be a good one
