Since he really didn't set a time frame, you could start with Arizona and Arizona State in the 70's leaving the WAC and making the PAC-8 the PAC-10.

Then you could look at Arkansas starting the exodus from the Southwest Conference in 1991 by joining the SEC about the same time as South Carolina joined after being an Independent for several years. (They were in the old ACC)

No matter how anyone may try to color it, Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech and Texas A&M switched conferences which really caused the breakup of the Southwest Conference.

Actually...I believe there were 4 that were left after the 4 Texas schools left:

Rice, TCU, SMU and Houston were left behind and were forced to find other conferences.

So...while anyone may say/believe that Texas "would never leave an established conference" they have history of doing it.

You don't understand how new channel negotiations work, do you?

It's still two months from launch. ESPN and the SEC will continue to work with TWC, Comcast and DirecTV and eventually work something out. Just like they do with every other new channel.

That's why they beg Kansas all the time to resume play. One win vs Kansas makes a season for each sport there. Norm became a hero there by going 33-41 vs us.

I do. Mizzou won 12 football games last year. KU has won 14 in the last 5 years COMBINED.

Not sure how the Big12 schools got "left behind". Big12 made more money per school(again), and other leagues are talking about adding another conference game so they have harder schedules like the Big12. Since you know, they said getting in the playoffs will have SOS factored in more than what it was.

SEC and B1G actually did the dumb thing, where the Big12 now has a great thing going on. We have the perfect sized conference now. We play everyone in football once and truly see who the best team is, not who had the easier schedule. And in basketball we play everyone twice home and away.

So Saban got an extension, and will make 6.9 mill next year making him the highest paid coach. Aren't there a few basketball coaches who make more?
