Looks like it could be pretty good. I'll give it a shot when it comes out.

Favreau, Rhys-Davies, and Dexter's Dad? I'm in! Admittedly, I enjoyed the Shannara trilogy as a kid. Never got into the follow up stories though.

Love the book series, especially the original three (Sword, Elfstones, Wishsong). Looking forward to this series as it looks like they're going all-out to make it decent and more like LOTR and less like the cheesy but still enjoyable "Herc" and "Xena" (and, later, the ill-fated "Sword of Truth" based "Legend of the Seeker").

Like JD, I was a big fan of the first three novels. Lost track of it after that, although I did breeze through a somewhat recent Shannara book explaining the first appearances of the elves and how people were still basically using modern day technology to some degree. Can't remember the name of that book.
I'll give it a shot. |

Heard of the books, but never read them and don't know anything about them. Looks visually pretty cool.
MTV though? I thought that channel had devolved into 24 hours of Ridiculousness, which is basically "Ow my Balls" from Idiocracy with a douchier host. And that's a step up from the teen angst of all the shit they were airing after they stopped playing music. I'll give it a look though. Just not holding my breath. |

Like others, I read the first three books a zillion years ago. like others, I'm amazed MTV is doing this, and that the trailer didn't suck.
So sure, I'll give it a shot. Looks promising!

The only two people who were well cast in that were Kahlan and Cara, and even Kahlan took some getting used to. Richard was way too young and pussy. Still, for a cheap adaptation, it wasn't as bad as the critics made it out to be. But Goodkind's works deserved a more realistic bad-ass "Game Of Thrones" style interpretation.

In order to assist Laz, just thought I'd bump this from the bottom of the front page to the to top of the front page. Don't want anyone to get hurt scrolling.
