I think this line is going to be much better. The first few games may be a rough go at it, becuase they will need time to work together as a unit. The only way they'll get better at it is getting reps in practice (Last year was a big problem with the O-line becuase of injuries and ineffectiveness) and in game settings.
Another thing to factor into your mind is that practice settings does not translate into game settings. So it will take time for them to get it going, especially in game situations. At least there is finally some youth on this line, and not some washed up clowns (Turdly, Welbourne, etc). I still am hoping that Taylor or Stollings can beat out McIntosh, becuase McIntosh isn't even worthy of being a starter. He's at best, a average back-up lineman.

I feel much better about Albert because he's young and athletic.
I feel a little better about Waters because he's grunting a lot. And he'll hopefully have some more talent around him. I feel much better about Niswanger because he's young and athletic. I feel a little better about RG because it's not Welbourn. I feel the same about RT because all the options suck just like last year. |

I feel much better (but still not good) about 2008
Rookie changing positions at LT is probably about equal to marginally talented vet Waters is the same Bigger is better at center Whoever it is cannot be worse than Welbourne was last year Whoever it is cannot be worse than Terry and Turley were last year |

My biggest concern is whatever position McIntosh is playing, because it won't be LT.
He's a finesse guy, he's going to get abused at RG or RT. Interesting that I haven't heard a peep yet about Barry Richardson yet... |

The only upgrade I give is to R Tackle, because it honestly can't get worse. Waters gets the same grade. Niswanger is an unknown, hopefully he can get the ball to Brody without issue. Jones or ????, BIG question mark. Branden gets the rookie pass and hopefully can keep Brody from the ICU.

I call Albert a little better for this year and a lot better next year. Ditto for Rudy. Waters is Waters and being surrounded by better younger athletes is a plus. The right side is still a ? but we do have a couple of youngsters that might be able to step up if needed. I feel better about this year's line than last year and I think that next year will be far better yet.
