I see Reid like a not-crazy version of Mike Martz.
Several QBs under Martz had at least some kind of success (Bulger and Green for example). But Warner was the only real success story.

I would counter and say that there isn't anyone worth the #1 pick in this draft.
Warmack? You don't take a guard #1 no matter what. I wouldn't even take Will Shields #1. Jones? nope (stenosis?) Joeckel? Maybe ... if you think he is a Jonathan Ogden level type LT Milliner? A cornerback better be able to shit gold to be taken #1 and i heard that Milliner needs surgery. In a draft with no obvious gold star prospects the value of the position takes on more weight. Quarterback is the most valuable position in the NFL. So if you are going to 'reach' for a player at #1 then you reach for a QB. jmo

Soren Petro just had an epiphany. I almost wonder if he hasn't been secretly wanting Barkley all along but was just afraid he'd look stupid by declaring himself.
He flat out said these teams are playing opossum and there's NO WAY that Locker and Gabbert would be the #1/#2 QBs in this draft. It's about damn time Petro. |

You know what's ****ing stupid?
If we traded down to, say, pick number six and got an extra third round pick in 2014 for our troubles, THEN took Geno Smith, everyone would say "Herp derp you see they got better value!" Not one single talking head would say the Chiefs overdrafted. They just have an anti-hard-on for taking a guy at #1. #2? Sure thing! You bet! #1? Go **** a puppy. |

Pick #6 is worth 1600 points. We damn well better get more than a 3rd rounder in 2014 for our troubles. But I get your point. |

Via @tjcarpenterwhb Chiefs have meetings set w/Tyler Bray and EJ Manuel. No definitive word on plans w/Smith, Barkely, Nassib Glennon etc.
