And I'm not surprised Mauk lost confidence. The staff lost confidence in him, and they had a right to. He was making awful decisions with the ball all night. I wouldn't have trusted him to drive them 70 yards in 42 seconds; he couldn't even throw a screen pass well.

I know "He's a RS Freshman" and all, but he was so, so ****ing bad tonight that it really defies description. Gabbert and Franklin were light years ahead of that as true sophomores.

Yep, mauks problems are something that time simply won't fix. He's not very athletic at all either, I really don't have faith in him beating Tennessee now, he's lucky he hasn't turned the ball over 8 times in 2 games.

I was extremely excited about Mauk until late in spring practice when he was given a legitimate chance to win the job, and by all accounts, played horrifically.

I took this loss better than I thought, I just realize I'm not 11 years old anymore, I had hope back then because I hadn't had my heart ripped out 100 times yet but after so many disappointments you begin to expect it.

While I'm not partial to any collegiate team, I'd say that my own observations are similar to those of Hamas.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the playcalling from both of MU's units but moreso in the 2nd half (shocking revelation, ja sei). Shaw looked good, interesting guy because of his athleticism. I do feel bad for that kicker, especially after reading the death threats/etc. that were sent to him.

He did. IIRC, he was double covered, jumped above both of them, had it in his hands, and couldn't come down with it.

It was a perfect storm of second half ineptitude - from playcalling to fundamental execution to LACES ****ING OUT - that caused us to piss away this game.

In the first half this dude came out with a chance to kick a 30 yard FG. He started stepping it off soccer style and I told my wife he was going to nail it. He splits the uprights, gets $1000, then walks off the field. Two hours later, Baggett doinks a 24 yarder off the same goalpost the dude off the street cleaved.
