I'd be excited about this if Civ games weren't so ****ing boring. Just going to save my money to buy Madden 25 instead.

One man's boring is another man's cerebral. I love the new Shoshone scouts.

I'm the polish. Wouldn't you know, their special unit is a submarine with a screen door on it.

First game with Brave New World.
Playing as Morocco. Wanted to try out their special ability that adds more gold to trade routes, among other things. Cool Civ. Trade routes are cool, if a bit automated. Nice to pick up a little science and religion spreading with trade routes. Honestly, this should have been in the original and I am glad we have it now. I play on marathon, so only now getting past 1000 AD, haven't got to see the ideologies. Changes too Policies are many, and haven't experimented with them all, but they look like great changes. Culture and tourism looks interesting, but haven't gotten far enough to really tinker with it. I play on the second highest Difficulty. It seems the A.I. still has a problem with building and running an Army. (or that may be marathon pace), but have yet to be challenged by an A.I. Army this game, despite a couple wars and my take over of the Ottomans. This was by experience pre Brave New World. I did come across a major bug. It seems the Desert Folklore religious belief says it adds faith per worked desert tile (same as in G&K's), but I am not getting the added faith right now.

Also, the Pathfinder upgrades to a Composite Archer, which is s pretty powerful unit to throw around in 3000 BC.

I purchased Civ V when Steam had it for $12.50. Kind of a funny story with that. I had some issues with someone who had gotten my credit card info somehow. My charges for the game were denied by my CC company. Steam had suspended my account for 9 weeks until I was able to get it straightened out.
Pretty good game, a little bit easier to play than past versions (think I've played all but Civ2 including the old board game). So far I have won the game every method but diplomatic. Not really sure how to take the most advantage of religion. Last game I tried to advance it only to have the Ethopians dropping by with a missionary every other turn. The new update looks pretty interesting.
