Help with home page.
I was surfing the net when suddenly all of this spyware prevention came up and since all of the hysteria, I can't get my home page back it say isafetypage.com and suddenly I have a pop up blocker and spyware prevention toolbar. Must get kcchiefs.com back and get rid of this new toolbar of crap.

Let's examine it this way. By you browsing the web, someone gained enough priviliges on your computer to install software. This requires administrative access. Therefore, that someone could have put anything anywhere on your system that they wanted to. At this point your PC is completely comprimised. You may get your home page back, you may even get that toolbar removed, but you'll never know if you have your PC clean or not unless you reinstall.

I'd back up any data files then do a reinstall from scratch. Then, before I copied them back to the fresh install I'd scan them for viruses again.

if you are overly sensitvie about the nature of such files and information on your computer then heed his advice-

If you are a casual user and you feel confidant that the 3rd party programs that are provided to "Clean" your system has not actually harmed your computer even more then go ahead- now there are some genuine good programs to help just make sure you pick the right ones and sometimes you have to pick the right one for your kind of infection-

yeah you gotta reinstall, use firefox, make sure you're surfing benind a hardware firewall (or NAT router) and use AVG Free virus software.
