It's not a maybe. If Oregon wins out they will be ahead of KSU in the BCS. Oregon is already ahead of KSU in the human polls that matter (Harris & Coaches). Where they're behind is in the computers and that will change once Oregon plays USC (twice), Stanford, and Oregon State.

Why should Oregon have kept piling the points? SOS matters in the computers, style points are for human voters and Oregon is still ahead of KSU in the human polls. Do you not know how the BCS works?

Human voters are imperfect. You pile on points to ensure your place. The last thing you want is to let off the gas and have KSU jump them in both polls. There is no reason NOT to pile the points on. K-state gained a lot of ground in the human polls this week. I am sure that if Oregon puts it to ASU the whole game the gap would not have closed much if at all.

Oregon's SOS will catch up but it is still a maybe as to whether they pass KSU or not. They probably will, especially if they get USC twice. But if they get USC twice, they probably don't beat them twice. But in these polls, anyone that has ever paid attention to college football knows that things don't always go as expected.

Bingo. Gator fan is not taking into account that the human polls could change based on how the teams look in their victories. Just because Oregon is ahead in the Coaches and Harris polls doesn't mean it is a given they will stay there.

Their remaining schedule vs. K-State's remaining schedule guarantees they will finish ahead of K-State in the BCS if both remain undefeated.

I realize you kitty fans don't want to hear the truth, but that doesn't change it from being the truth.

Again, the human polls can change. You can accept that as a possibility or continue to show your ignorance. I care not which at this point.

I really don't think it is an issue anyway. I don't think Oregon can run the table with the remaining schedule they have. They drop one of two to USC, or they lose to their state rival.

Any poll can change. I'm saying if Oregon doesn't lose, by the end of the season, it won't. It could next week if K-State destroys TTU and Oregon plays Colorado, but once the tough part of Oregon's schedule beings they'll jump back ahead.

It's not ignorance, it's superior knowledge.

How can anyone talk in absolutes about any of this? What if USC drops another game before they play Oregon? What if Texas doesn't lose again before they play KSU? What if Oregon beats USC and then Notre Dame beats USC on the road and makes Oregon's win not so impressive? Anyone talking like they KNOW how any of this is going to play out is just plain stupid.

That's true, but it's pretty unlikely all 3 teams will finish the season undefeated.

What could really make things interesting is seeing Alabama lose to an undefeated Florida in the SEC title game, IMO.

Could/Would they just move Alabama to #2, especially if it were a close loss?
