Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I know getting a quarterback that is very good at what he does, but pretty average overall is not the most exciting thing in the world, but when your team is donkey balls bad with the top pick in the weakest draft since 2005, average limited turnover play is exactly what the team needs from the QB right now. Crawl-->walk-->run.
I'd rather the Chiefs suck donkey balls for 1 more year rather than try and band-aid the situation with mediocrity assuring yourself a not great but not horrible pick in 2014.

Listen, douche. They don't only show 49ers games in SF. We've watched his sorry ass play too. We don't need you bringing your fabricated rainbows and sunshine garbage around here.

An average QB getting us 7-9 wins per year isn't going to help this team ever get a true franchise QB.

Nobody gives a shit about an "upgrade". We want the franchise guy for 10-15 years. If it's Geno, Barkley, or whoever there will be one in this draft more then likely and Reid and Dorsey were paid big money to be able find that guy.

49ers douches: "You all should feel privileged and thankful that we're bestowing an average POS QB upon you all so you may go 8-8. You're welcome."

JFC.

We don't care what you idiots think. We'd rather draft a QB at #1 overall and if he fails do it over again in 2016 than have to waste 2-4 years with Alex Smith.

Lets just hope Alex doesn't get a contract extension! That's now my worry.

GTFO.
Yeah because you guys are clearly on track to win it all next year. Stop dreaming.

There is not a single player that was going to magically turn your franchise around in one year. That doesn't happen. It takes time for a team to crawl out of a dumpster. Like I said, let next year happen...then start having some reasonable expectations.

So you team sucks, and is going to continue to suck so bad, there is no way they can win with Alex Smith? Is that what you're saying there dude?

So to keep your sucky team from sucking you want to draft a quarterback with a second round grade first overall and throw him into the league without much talent around him or time to learn, along with 10 other guys trying to learn the new system, and you think that is going to win football games????

Alex was drafted #1 overall, so be careful what you wish for!

You don't trade two second round picks for a stopgap veteran that's going to be here 1-2 years. That's just crazy. Reid has committed to Smith being the starter. Smith will be here as the starter for as long as the fan base will tolerate it. This is Matt Cassel and Pioli all over again.

It's obvious that Reid thinks this team can win right now. And he thinks Smith is good enough to win with. I personally think Reid is a ****ing idiot.

Morons: look at my sig. We've been here before. We've done this. Not once. Not twice. Not three times. This is the FIFTH time we've been here. IT DOES NOT WORK.

Stupid question: Does this automatically mean we won't draft a QB?
