Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

kcchiefs.com has a forum on their own website. There are a TON of Chiefs forums. You guys just happened to find the black sheep of them. We are definitely the most raw Chiefs forum, and probably the most raw NFL forum period. Most Chiefs forums don't operate the way this one does. So it probably won't surprise you to know that a lot of us don't participate on the other ones. Although that's changing more and more with our new users coming in.

Sorry again it took so long to activate your account. We get around 2,000 new sign ups daily and 1,800 are spam bots, and we have to go through each IP address, to make sure a) it's not a duplicate account b) not a previous banned member c) not a spam bot. So it takes time to go through all of the usernames, and IP addresses.

I am grateful when a member sends an email, this way we can get the member approved right away. Normally within a day or two most new members who are real are activated.

Yes, the 9er board is heavily moderated due to the 49ers own the board, and want to make sure all fan base can enjoy the board including our young fan base. So the moderators follow the rules the 49ers set forth for us to follow.

Anyway's do not want to make this off topic, but felt you should know why.

Yep, snoopy contacted me personally and let me know, and I took care of it for you right away..

You will get a lot of members on the 49er board telling you how happy he is gone and good luck with Mr. Dink and Dunk.. They will be ruthless and full of hate. Be prepared. lol.. You will get some giving you good information just read through the bull shit, and you'll get some good answers.

Alex has been through a lot with the 49ers class act kid, and was really coming into his own once Harbaugh came on. Alex really improved these past few years, as his confidence improved.. Once he new he can he got better.

I agree with some Alex has issues with the deep ball and accuracy, but we did not throw the ball a lot we were a run first team. With Andy he is more of a pass first team. Not sure how well Alex will do, with passing 45 times a game only time will tell..

My thoughts are you got yourself a good serviceable QB who will games for you guys, until you find your franchise QB and groom him to take over in about two years.

I do believe Alex is better than any QB on your team now, and a improvement for you guys. Like I said time will tell.. I sure hope Alex does well for you guys have always like the kid and want nothing more for him to be successful..

Thanks, man. You'll get a lot of vitriol if you hang out here, because our fanbase feels like we just got done with this movie in Matt Cassel and don't want to watch a double feature.

Personally, after some initial puking I came to the realization that this is NOT Cassel all over again and Reid and Dorsey just don't like the guys at the top of this class. I figure Alex is going to be a stop gap because these guys feel like they can compete right away. They don't need to rebuild with the talent on this team. QB was the BIGGEST problem and they found the best immediate solution in their eyes.

Time will tell, but I see a plan coming together and I trust our leadership to do it differently than Scott Pioli did. We're going to learn a lot more in the next couple of months.

Thanks for getting me approved. I have thick skin, and don't get rattled by complete strangers so I'll fit in just fine. You won't have to worry about me not playing by the rules. I even kept the same screen name. I'm not trolling. I did grow up in Seattle though, so I'm a Seahawks guy.

Your welcome.. Welcome to our boards look forward to seeing you around. Any issues with anyone just let us know we handle things fast.

Alex is just that a stop gap QB for you guys. Hate to say it, but your rebuilding your team 100% be patient and in the long run you'll have a very good team once some big holes are filled with the right personnel.

I am sure I will follow the chiefs a little more now just to see how Alex does. I never hated the guy, and yes at times I was frustrated when Alex just sucked for 7 years, but I do think he is coming into his own, and will do OK, for you for the next two years, unless he shocks the world and you guys make it to the Superbowl this year and win.. This comment is not being disrespectful. Should this happen expect Alex to get an extension for the long haul.

Alex has won more playoff games than the Chiefs have in the last 20 years. He gets us to a Championship game and they can sign him long term AFAIC.

Good luck, you guys.
Alex was a very serviceable QB for the Niners, after finally getting some competent coaching. And he will continue under another good coach, most certainly better than Cassel would. I wish him the best, as long as he isn't playing the Niners at the time. I'd hate to see him pull a Joe on us.
