Out of curiosity, in 10 years, how do you think this board will speak of Jamaal??? Do you think he'll be one of those Chiefs who is generally loved by most fans like Priest, Len Dawson, DT, etc...like the types you rarely read any negative things about them from any user...mostly because there really isn't much negativity, but also because they were fan favorites????

I wonder if someday, we speak about him as the best RB of all time in the NFL....not just KC. With his consistently sick YPR/YPC numbers, big play ability at all times, etc... if he keeps this up for 2-3 years (I think he has the potential to do this), he will definitely be in that conversation amongst Chiefs fans.

I already think he's the best RB we've had.

That's pretty amazing considering how lethal guys like Priest and LJ were in their primes.

LJ was never all that good.

He had the speed to get to the holes that an outstanding O-Line created and then run over smaller tacklers in the second level, and had outstanding durability.

But as the O-Line began to deteriorate, his lack vision and workload turned him into a jag.

Priest benefitted from that ine, as well, but his vision separated him from LJ.

Jamaal Charles is on an entirely different level.

He is the career leader in ypc, in spite of running behind some crap lines that aren't nearly as good as the lines that many others have run behind, including the man many to be the best in the game today, AP.

Charles and Priest. both with their own unique strenghts. I think Charles can get skinny and through the holes.

and Priest....man, his patience on those sweeps was a thing of beauty.

And at no point in Charles career did he ever have a legitimate passing attack to take pressure off him.

Only last year could you even argue he had a legitimate QB...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I agree. Hell, his 2010, pre ACL tear avg. was 6.4. Jim Brown-ville. And his line that year was far from elite... Shit...we were trotting Barry ****ing Richardson out there at times...

Matt ****ing Cassel benefited from Jamaal beasting that year (as well as Bowe's acrobat skills).

I hate him now but let's be fair here; LJ was pretty damn good in his prime. Of course he benefitted from a stellar offensive line, but so did Priest.

1,700+ yards in back to back season. I don't have the stats with me now but I'm pretty sure he got near 20 TDs in both seasons as well.

He was big, strong, and fast. He'd hit that hole and run through the second level like a beast.

He was. Right up until he decided to only run up the center's ass and then fall down.
