Shiner Bock from Texas when I'm in a bar with only bud/miller etc, and I'm feeling too cheap for a microbrew, this is the beer I look for...not sure if you find it in california easy to drink, just a touch sweet, doesn't taste like urine

BTW, one thing you might not know is that smaller breweries don't distribute everywhere. So, for example, I can't get Yeungling here (though I've tried it many times). That's part of why it's hard to recommend something specific - it's tough to know what you'll find out in your area.

If you are poor Upper Deck scum like me, Keystone Light will do the job well.

MISS LIBERTY LAGER Bronze medal winner 2010 μ Gold medal winner 2009 Silver medal winner 2008, 2011 μ Carolinas Championship of Beer Our Number One seller! Light, dry and refreshing, this fi ltered all malt lager is fermented cool with a long cold storage to produce a clean beer that is a perfect alternative to the macro-produced beers of the world. But you don’t need a “Born-On” date when you can have beer in the delivery room! |

On that page, it calls it an American Pale Lager. If you click on that style, you'll get a list of tons of others that should be similar. I've had Moosehead's lager - it's tasty. That might be hard to find though. |

Eh, lager vs. ale is like NFC vs. AFC. There are clear differences in the two, but that's not to say you won't find a Patriots in one and a Packers in the other. Likewise, you can find a Cardinals in one and a Raiders in the other, too.
