If my home town (Ottumwa, IA) had any "real" jobs to offer I might have stayed. It would have been nice to stay close to my extended family.

Grew up in Iowa, have lived in California a total of 13 years now. I don't plan on living in California forever, but I'm not going back to Iowa.

Would consider Texas (again), Colorado, Missouri/Kansas, North/South Carolina, Georgia, or Virginia.

Grew up in Wichita, the true Mid-West. Moved to Chicago for a job 17 years ago, and I don't consider it the Mid-West even though they all call it that.

I marked "same region" since we moved all over Washington and Oregon when I was a kid. I went to high school in Silverton and Salem, OR, so I consider that "where I grew up" but I'm 500 miles away in a different state and don't really think I would ever want to move back.

If I had to move and could get a job there, I would love to live in the Bend/Redmond area of eastern Oregon..
