Giving Tuesday
It's Giving Tuesday, a day of charitable donations to answer Black Friday.

I'd love to make a donation today for a humanitarian cause of choice. So many great causes, it's hard to decide which one needs my support on this day.

What's a humanitarian cause you'd recommend? I'm looking for something nonpartisan to help those who are truly in need.

All suggestions welcome.

Something for kids. I always make sure if I'm donating or volunteering, that it's to something for kids.

Recommendations I've received so far:

* Puppy Rescue Mission ("they help to bring animals to the US for soldiers who found them. It is a fabulous organization. The animals really help the soldiers deal with their PTSD")

* donating household items to your local Kitchen for folks ("All items go to the homeless who are getting housing. One individual can go once a lifetime. I use this for my clients. It is direct and they make no money off the items")

* Bikers Against Child Abuse (" helping children / families intimidated by abusers")

I always feel bad for the kids who may not get much or anything because they have a bad family situation or whatever. Let 'em be like other kids for awhile.

A lot of foster kids get moved around so much, and they don't have anything to move what few clothes or belongings from one placement or another. They end up having to move everything in trash bags. Suitcases4Kids provides them with a suitcase so they can move with a little bit of dignity.
