Chiefs Is Dwayne Bowe the most overrated Chief ever? - Page 10

I've been a fan since I can remember, which was just over 20 years ago. I know we have seen some overrated QB's here, but none of them were paid like Bowe at his position is and I can't think of another highly touted player who can't do his job in critical moments and has been thought of as quality for so long.

People also associate Bowe as the Chiefs 2nd best WR since Otis Taylor when in reality we haven't had a true #1 WR in how long?

What say you?

Most people don't leave the ****ing bed for three days with the flu. Dwayne Bowe played a professional football game, but he doesn't have heart.

Also, Bowe only put up good numbers because he was the only receiving threat. His first two years he put up 1K with Tony Gonzalez alongside him.

No receiver will ever produce with Smith because he won't throw to players who are NFL open, only college open.

In their first 5 seasons Johnson had 900 more yards, a whole 180 yards a season. While Johnson plays in an offense that has never had a running game and throws the ball 50 times a game. Larry Fitzgerald had 1,000 more yards, a whole 200 yards a season more than Bowe, while having Kurt Warner throwing him the ball in an offense that didn't run the ball but threw it a ton. Bowe had more yards and TDs than Andre Johnson in that same time frame.

I imagine Eric Decker suddenly sucks now because no one can throw him the ball.

Bowe was dealt a bad, bad hand with Alex Smith. I give him props for taking it like a man and being a team player. If anything, I like and respect Bowe more this year than I ever have before. True team player.

Most people don't get paid 8 figure salaries each year to go out and do their job when feeling ill.

Bowe is a good WR, but simply not worth the cap cost. I think most KC fans can agree to that much.

No one thinks he is Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Julio Jones or AJ Green.

He's in the same tier as guys like Roddy White, Vincent Jackson, Reggie Wayne, Mike Wallace, etc...

He's a fringe 1 or a solid 2.

Dwayne Bowe probably isn't worth league minimum on the Chiefs. We have an offense that doesn't utilize receivers. So, yes, you're right. He isn't worth his contract for the Chiefs.
