The Smith and Wesson M&P 40

Anyone else own one of these bad boys?

I picked one up not having shot it before. I have been told it is like shooting a Glock and I LOVE the Glock. I have actually started to fall in love with the 40 after a long love affair with the 9mm. Anyway opinions, comments concerns jokes?

I have had three encounters like that, but they ran the other way each time, which is just as well. One of the encounters was almost point blank and I was unarmed, in town, in Cooke City, Montana. Ask Otter about the place, he's been there.

As far as your other questions regarding price of the 329, just over a grand once I change out the grips.

That sounds like fun.

Fortunately all my woodland encounters in lovely overland park, kansas have been with bobcats around dusk while I'm walking or jogging.

I've never had problems reloading but then I don't max out loads or go 5% over max either like some fools I've met.

Yeah it was loads of fun. As in, I thought I was going to shit myself. I was a bartender at night and a fly fishing guide by day one summer in Cooke City, Montana, 3 miles from Yellowstone park. I was single and it was a target rich environment at night with all the single girls going to the park.

One night after work, I got off early (10 PM) so a buddy of mine and I grab a cold pack and head up this trail from hell to grab a mine cart, so his mother could use it in her front yard as landscaping. The mine had been closed since the 40's so we figured what the hell, it's not like they are going to need, or miss the thing. Off we go to this road from hell in a Chevy Love, that I don't think anyone had been on since the mine had closed. Bo Duke would have been proud, it was a real gut pounder going up that mountain.

We get to the top and suck down a few of the well shaken brews. We got out to load the aforementioned cart into this truck, when I look up and see a shadow right in front of us. There was very little moon that night, but I could tell the "thing" was moving. By the time I figured out is was a fricken grizzly bear, it was right there. I let out a "SON OF A BITCH!" and dove into the truck. My buddy dove in the other side. The "thing" stood up on it's back legs, took a sniff, let out a "Woof Woof" (most people won't have any fricken clue what I mean my that,) which isn't a bad thing, that just means you haven't had a grizzly bear that close to you. It's kind of a huff noise, but it sounds more like a "woof woof."

In any event, we decided that the mine cart could waint until the light of day and got the hell out of there. I was so wound up, I didn't get more than an hours worth of sleep that night at best. I have NEVER put myself into a situation like that unarmed again.

The bullet weights between 28 and 55 grains. How does that make a .45 "look small?" It looks like a fun fast toy, buy I sure wouldn't try jacking up a bear with that.

Wow. Mind telling me where you got that? $450 is a very good price. Been looking for this exact gun for some time now, but don't want to pay $700 for a new one and can't seem to find a used one anywhere in the Overland Park, KS area.

Does your source have any more to sell at that price (or even a bit more)?

If so, shoot me a PM. Thanks!
