So how many players from KC go to the 2014 Pro-Bowl after this season?

It's crazy to think that a team that went 2-14 last season had six Pro-Bowlers. That's a testament as to just how god damn bad the Chiefs QB and coaching staff were last season. I don't think that's ever happened before. Six players from a 2-14 team. We had more players representing the Chiefs than the many of the 2012 playoff teams, and even being tied w/ the Super Bowl Champ Ravens.

So, with the success we've been having this season...Who exactly is going to make the trip to Hawaii this year? Are there gonna be some new faces making the trip along w/ the usual suspects?

LOCKS (pretty much a repeat of last season, the usual suspects)

RB-Jamaal Charles - This is a no-brainer

P-Dustin Colquitt - Colquitt continues to be the best punter in football. Again a no-brainer although Lechler is still in the AFC. I think his time is up though.

NT-Dontari Poe - I wouldn't necessarily call this a surprise, because a lot of teammates and people were saying this guy was unblockable all camp long and it was only a matter of time before the game slowed down for this kid and he would be able to use his size and strength to overwhelm many opposing OL. I will say this is the main reason why this defense is dominating teams right now. It all starts up front. A NT that can collapse the pocket is the most important detail about this defense. Just about everything else fails unless Poe can wreck havoc on the opposing OL, collapsing pockets, redirecting RB's, or creating doubleteams.

OLB-Justin Houston - He's making his case for DPOTY, and a hefty-ass contract extension this offseason. This is a no-brainer as well.

OLB-Tamba Hali - Just as much as a no brainer as Houston. Won't waste anymore time on this other than the time it takes me to type this so I can let you all know I won't be wasting anymore time on this. That almost took too long to type.

ILB-Derrick Johnson - Derrick Johnson is being overshadowed a lot by Houston and Hali. But he's every bit as important and he's the nucleus of this sick ass LB core. He's on pace to record approx 120 tackles and 7 sacks. His INT's will come, he's been really close a bunch of times this season from snagging them, he's just come up short or the ball bounces the wrong way. That happens.

SS-Eric Berry - Last season I didn't think he deserved the PB slot, and I'm sure a lot of people agree as he was burned by just about every TE we played that season. But this season he's finally become the player that we all wanted to see coming out of Tennessee. The guy is flying around everywhere making plays on the ball, RB, TE, he's sacking the QB and grabbing INT's and he's even lined up at CB. He's the ultimate swiss army knife on Sutton's defense and is playing like a prime Polamalu under Lebeau's defense in PIT. He's making his case for best safety in the NFL this season.

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP

CB-Sean Smith - Surprisingly he's been the team's best CB. Keeps this production and dominance going and he'll get a Hawaii bid because it will eventually get to the point where his stats won't and can't be ignored.

FS-Quintin Demps - This guy keeps showing up at the right time and keeps making plays all while sharing the defensive backfield w/ Lewis and Abdullah. He needs to take away Kendrick Lewis' reps because Lewis is just ****ing horrible at tackling. Demps kinda reminds me of Jerome Woods in 2002, expect Demps looks a lot better because his surrounding cast is a hell of a lot better.

FB-Anthony Sherman - According to PFF he's the best FB in the AFC right now and it's not even close. The problem and reason why he's not a lock?....No one knows who the **** he is. He's not a big name like Leach and other than K and P, the FB position is a position no one gives a damn about.

LT-Branden Albert - For the last few seasons we've been stating on this board that Albert is a borderline Pro-Bowler or that Albert is better than Clady but Clady has the name recognition already etc...This season Albert has played VERY well, and really is the only bright spot of this offensive line, but it's time that the OL as a whole needs a drastically improve (cough FISHER/ALLEN cough)

THERE'S STILL A CHANCE(Needs a strong 2nd half of the season)

CB-Brandon Flowers - This is a position where your name alone can get you a bid to Hawaii, just ask Champ Bailey. Flowers has been one of the league's best CB's but he doesn't ever get the Hawaii recognition he deserves. This season with his knee injuries and him missing some time, along w/ the fact that Smith and Cooper are playing out of their minds right now, it's safe to assume that while Flowers is a vital important member of this defense, he won't get a bid unless he puts together an insane 2nd half of the season. It could happen, just not likely. I hope more than anything he just gets healthy.

CB-Marcus Cooper - The surprise of this season for the Chiefs and maybe in the AFC on the defensive side of the ball. I don't expect him to continue to play lights out but you never know. If/when Flowers returns more teams are going to throw his way, giving him more opportunities to int passes. Guess we'll see. Either way it's been fun watching the guy play. Hope he at least continues to improve.

QB-Alex Smith - I don't know if it's homerism or what, but the only reason why AS is on this list is because he's the QB and he's not playing like shit. It's an upward and almost impossible task at hand for Alex Smit to beat out Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Andrew Luck for the last QB slot of the AFC roster. I don't see him really doing a whole lot more than what we've already seen. And to be quite honest I could care less about his numbers as long as he's able to manage a few TD drives a game and not turn the ball over (primarily most important considering last season), our defense is good enough to where we can go out and matchup against anyone anytime and have a decent chance of winning the game. But if he turns it up a little and we start implementing Bowe into the passing game, then he could be a darkhorse, especially if one of those 3 previously mentioned QB's goes down w/ injury and can't make the trip - same way Cassel made it.

WR-Dwayne Bowe - He needs a strong 2nd half season. I mean REALLY strong. Problem is his QB (Smith) doesn't target Bowe enough. Either that or this system is just not tailored for a WR like Bowe. It's not a secret that Alex likes to look up field between the hash marks for a TE or some other crossing route with a WR underneath. He's more on this list for his name, because his stats aren't exactly PB material at the moment. I mean I guess AS can pull a Cassel 2010 and just throw to Bowe and nobody else. That's how they both got into the PB in 2010. That's how a lot of us were fooled into believing Cassel can lead this team to the playoffs. Just sayin'..

KR-Dexter McCluster - Personally I think he sucks. I didn't like putting his name on here other than the fact that if he can pull a couple/few returns out from his ass his name most certainly will be in this discussion. But i highly doubt that will happen.
