Not to toot my own horn (well, yeah I guess I am tooting), but Kyle has three articles up on the home page.

Brad Caudle, Dr. Red, and myself are the intial posts.

I suggest that you more well versed authors get it together and submit an article or two of your own.

It was interesting to read more than a paragraph or two from someone who posts frequently. Good job Brad and Dr. Red. I enjoyed both articles.

Wolfman and brad good articles.

Wolfman understand that I mean nothing personal when I go to label someone a fair weather fan. It's my opinion and if I think someone is acting like one I don't have a second thought in speaking up. Although I disagree with your assertion in your article I thought your article was well written and made your point of view clear.

As I will problably restate many times just for clarification. If someone in my view is more negative about their team than positive, no matter who they are or how long they rooted for their team, then in my estimation they have jumped off the bandwagon and being a fan is no longer fun for them and they lose that special something that keeps them up to the standards of being a good well versed fan.

Being a good well versed fan is not just regurgitating whb and kcstar. It seeing what is really going on and taking all sides into account. I've rambled on long enough and I'm looking forward to tailgaiting at this weeks game.

Once again great articles guys.

Red - I have to admit that your interpretation of the word "fan" inspired my article, and I truly appreciate your fervor.

I don't understand the constant negative aspect myself. I can name several people I have posted with for almost two years who have posted so little positive about the team that I can count the the "Yeahs" on both hands. I don't understand their pleasure in the game either. Personally, I believe a great deal of the negative posts I read is merely to elicit a response.

But then again, I cannot see the thrill that some get from needlework, intense weightlifting, or griping about the weather. Yet they do. Who knows?
To all those that posted articles, thanks for taking the time. I enjoyed reading them.

Does anyone know if they are going to keep doing this? And if they would mind getting articles from Bronco Fans - you know, spice things up!

Bronc Fan - Already there. Kyle is thinking about "The Dark Side of the Planet" with submissions from fans of other teams. Submit your article and I am sure that it will be posted.

Good articles, but I noticed two misspellings. Were you guys ever gonna do that thing where you had people edit them?

I'm NOT nitpicking, but we want our page to look good, and some people get really bent out of shape about stuff like that.

Very good articles. Thanks guys for taking the lead and getting some articles up. I noticed a couple of minor errors (spelling our QBs name wrong and not captializing our coaches name) but all in all a nice job.

I enjoyed the articles as well, but I too noticed a few misspellings and a fragmented sentence or two.

That said, they still were good reads.

KCWolfman,

Read your article, and it is very accurate. I don't know if you take me as one of the negative people or not, and am not concerned with that. What I am concerned with is the state of the team that puts more joy into my life than any other sports team team, college or pro. That is the KC Chiefs. I have followed them through thier glory years in the late 60's and early 70's, the bad times of the 70's and 80's, and the good times of the 90's.

Even though I had high hopes every year through the 70's and 80's that "this will be the year we break through" and didn't, I remained loyal to my team.

In all of my years of following the Chiefs, I feel I have become a little wiser (maybe not, but I feel that way). I see a disturbing trend the last 3 or 4 years that is taking us closer to the days of the 70's and 80's, than to the glory years of the late 60's. I enjoy seeing my team win as much as the next Chiefs fan, but am not satisfied with the mediocrity of the 9-7 pattern that we are in at this point. I would be if I could see signs of a 9-7 team that is ready to take it to the next level, but I can not see that.

We have, IMO, average players at the wrong places, and great players where average players would suffice. Even though I am not enamored with our coaching staff, I am not sure they are blessed with a lot of options as to what they can do. Plus, we have dug ourselves into salary cap hell, which we will have to pay for at some point in time.

That is why I am in favor of the house cleaning that needs to take place every once in a while. It does not mean that I am not a true fan. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth!
Coogs - That's just it. I may have a negative perception of your concept; however, that doesn't mean I should have a negative perception of you. What you believe, you truly believe will be beneficial for the team. As far as I am concerned, that makes you a fan.

As far as your thoughts are concerned, I think you are a misguided fan.

If my team were 0-15 in the final week of the season, I would still expect them to play to the best of their ability to win the last game. I am sure that you believe I am misguided as well.

But I believe that we both have no problem calling one another a Chiefs fan.
