Didn't see the game...

but followed the plays on my cell phone on a long drive....

Thoughts:

1) Why in the heck didn't we just run it twice (if need be) at the beginning of the 4th when we had 3rd and 3 at the Bills 25? I KNEW Tynes was going to miss. Sometimes DV is a complete idiot.

2) I didn't see the performance, nor even hear it on the radio, but it sure seemed that Green had no time to throw at all.

3) It seems to me that we have to gut the downfield passing game. With awful receivers and awful pass protection, we have to go to a short passing game centered around Gonzalez. Even play fakes can't buy the WRs enough time now because Green is on his back by the time he gets open.

More screens to LJ. He is our only play-maker on offense. Also, more dump passes to Richardson.

3) That is no solution. If you don't make the DB respect your down field game 1) they will jump your short routes and 2) be able to bring the safeties up and make running that much more difficult. Granted we no longer have the personell to make this phase of the offense work, but you can't give it up either. We are just so screwed here, which is the #1 reason why we will not be going to the playoffs this year.

I'd rather go to a short passing attack like Hackett ran at NY, than have Green killed and picked constantly. We simply cannot throw the ball downfield with Black at LT. I agree, we pretty much are screwed, but the slow developing max protect send-out-only-two-receiver play fakes are now disasters. I'd prefer have Green throwing short darts with more receivers going out.
