LNBS: Can we trade Chase Daniel?

I honestly think we will trade him this offseason.

This draft is weak at QB IMO and lots of teams have needs at quarterback, while Chase has shown the ability to lead a team to wins (I still view the 2013 finale as a win because the refs screwed up)

Mariotta has red flags for being a system guy that hasn't had to really throw into tight windows (his receivers were always wide open) and hasn't had to run a pro style set. Others have said he is a one read guy who looks to run too fast (not sure I agree with that)

Winston showed major red flags after his last game and while he is a gamer and has a lot of experience in a pro style offense, there are concerns that his immaturity will lead to a guy with early success but might not have the drive it takes to develop all of his skills and he might really embarrass your team if you draft him and constantly have to clean up after him.

Hundley? I once saw him as a guy that might move this year into the top spot, but he didn't really impress.

It's also a weak free agent class of QBs (even with Cutler possibly hitting free agency)

Andy has a history of trading quarterbacks for picks and it would be amazing if he can get us a third for Daniel while saving us nearly 4 million in cap space while he's at it.

Honestly, the more I look into this QB class, I think it's not only possible but probable that they move Chase...I think a third is possible...or maybe a conditional pick dependent on playing time and production.

Texans
Bills
Rams
Bears
Jets
Jags
Titans
Bucs

That's a lot of QB needy teams without a lot of options out there.

Funny how 6 of the 7 players the chiefs might be interested this off season are WRs and OL

But if anyone on this site had suggested that Alex Smith would be picked up by any team at the cost of two-seconds in the 2012 offseason; they'd have been just as easily dismissed as someone saying Booger was worth a 4th or some shit to some awful franchise.

Funny how Alex just "can't develop chemistry" with 5 WR's.

Damn those 5 WR's.

Also, the Seahawks allowed 24 points against the Raiders, they won in spite of that, and are playing in a superbowl. Probably has something to do with scoring more than the opponents.

Probably because of Alex and his 108 passing yards.

I'm sure the line was dog shit that day though, which is why Charles ran for 159 yards and 2 TDs.

So who wants to put their money where their mouth is then? Lets make a bet.

If the Chiefs "upgrade" the WR/OL positions by at LEAST 4 players (2 WR/2 OL or any combination there of WR/OL) and the Chiefs offense improves next year (Improvement meaning more WR TDs, less sacks, more offensive production in general) then all of those who said it was Alex Smiths Fault have to change their name to Dumbass 1 thru whatever for 6 months until the start of the 2016 season. If the the changes happen above and the offense continues to struggle as it did this year I will change my name to whatever you want for 6 months until the beginning of the 2016 season.

All that has to happen for the bet to remain valid is:
Alex Smith remain the starter the whole season
The Chiefs make FA/Draft additions to the OL/WR Corps (minimum 4 positions)

Alex Smith/Chiefs Success (More production,Pass yards/TDs, than this year)
Alex Smith/Chiefs Failure (Same or less production, pass yards/TDs, than this year)

So you are trying to bet someone that if the Chiefs upgrade their offense and their offense is then better that someone has to change their name to Dumbass?

You are ****ing reeruned.

Awe look at you - so Cute - like a lil button on a fat ladys coat - if it's Alex Smiths fault the offense is so bad then it won't matter if they go get the BEST OL/WR's in the NFL he will still throw it to the TE.

So by result then the bet is that the WRs this year are BAD and Alex Smith just had to live with it. If, however, they go get a couple of decent WR's/OL and Alex does good next year then we know you dumbshits don't know shit about football.

The flip side is if they get better WR's/OL and Alex still sucks next year then I obviously don't know anything about football.

Did that clear it up pumpkin?

I could see him Buffalo. With Rex Ryan, their defensive pieces and skill position players, Daniel could easily guide them to 8-8 or 9-7.

Put some hard numbers to it maybe?

3800 yards passing, 28 TDs passing shouldn't be hard with a little help right?

I noticed you're not setting 4000 yards passing as a goal for Alex Smith.

Interesting. Why do you think that is?

That's like 250 yards a game. Madden numbers. Wouldn't be fair.
