A point of contention, the central premise of Breaking Bad is that Walt takes over the trade because it's so damn pure. And Hank finding the pure stuff on the street means they're not cutting it in production.

OTOH, a central premise of The Wire is that, in the words of String Bell, "you make it good, they buy it up. You make it bad, they buy twice as much.'

Point being that the Meth/Heroin trade isn't about charging the street premium $$ from high grade stuff, unless you're on Wall Street or in Beverly Hills. In the bigger picture, you want to make good enough product to warrant street value, and claim enough territory with reliable demand to move it.

The Wire probably more accurate than Breaking Bad on the business end.

Though that was partially addressed on the last episode. Lillian's cook says his clients aren't complaining about lack of purity. She says her clients in the Czech are, though, because they aren't redneck tweakers (paraphrasing here).

Yeah, business-wise, the only real value of super-pure meth is that when you cut it you can use less meth. It stretches out batches. I can overlook BB not taking this into account.

the walls of the storage lockers don't go all the way to the top. They are covered with a mesh wire on top. They would be well-lit.

That's not actually true. Researchers in Oregon tried to figure out why meth usage ebbed and flowed over time, and what they found was that when precursors were more easily available, which thus led to higher purity, more people used. More people using=a greater customer base which = more revenue and profits.
