Kloster - After I play with them last season, I feel anything could happen on Monday. I think we are the better team and should be able to win, but damn they made us look bad twice last year. Sometimes teams just match up perfectly against other teams, and they played us perfectly, even when they played like crap the other 6 weeks. Hopefully Gun has figured something out, I fear the soft zone could cause us lots of problems. For my part I will be at the game losing my voice.

I think the Chiefs will be fine. They typically bring it on monday night. Arrowhead will be rockin' and I think our Dline will do just fine against Seatles young O line. I do hope that Clemons is back though.
The running game will go better because Seatle will be defending the pass more than the last couple of weeks. I don't see them stacking the box and leaving our recievers to run wild...though Springs is a pretty good DB. I'm not as "concerned" as I was last weekend. Chiefs 27 Seahawks 10 |

I am hoping as the week goes on we will be hearing more about the game on Monday, right now all I am hearing is still to the effect of we won last week. In the press confrence today Gun started pointing to the game Monday night at Arrowhead, and I hope the rest of the team is starting to look towards the game as well.

Holmgren made Gunther look bad twice in a row. I don’t see a lot of difference in Gunther between then and now. And I doubt that Holmgren has lost too much in the intervening time. Coach Vs coach, we would be in trouble.
Last time we played Seattle, we had to blitz to get pressure. And Schottenheimer’s blitz packages were so lame that we seldom laid a glove on Kitna. He threw the screen and dump passes to Watters who chewed us up [another black mark against Schottenheimer, IMO]. So far this season, we have been getting good pressure on the QB with our front four. If we do that against the ‘Hawks, our LBs can handle Watters on the dump and screen plays. Stuff the run and force Kitna to beat you deep. I believe we can stuff the run. I believe our LBs can stop the screen pass. I believe our DL can get into the Seattle backfield and crush Kitna a bit. What worries me [again] is our coaching staff. I think we have the players to match up well with Seattle. Our coaches do not look nearly as good. xoxo~ gaz would like to regain some faith in the brains of this outfit.
|

I don't think we need to concern ourselves so much with losing the game, in my opinion. Actually it would be nice if we could score a bunch and get some second stringers back in late in the game. It would be nice to see Moon go deep a couple of times.

I'm worried about Seattle but not because of Holmgren. The Seattle players made the CHIEFS look bad last season twice.

Of course I am worried. When is it that the Chiefs seem to lose most consistantly? When we think that we have the game bagged, right? Gunther better not pretend that this is going to be a breeze because it's NOT!!! I'll be pissed if I have to sit through 4 quarters of sloppy gameplan AND gameplay, and we end up losing because we are not prepaired. But, I wouldn't rule it out unfortunately...

Seattle's been a Jeckyl and Hyde team this year as have the Chiefs. They are deep, have superb coaching and, as witnessed in the St. Louis game, are capable of making amazingly boneheaded mistakes. The kind that make Holmgren look like he's gonna spurt. I just wish I could be there to hear the roar from both stadiums when it happens. What's the latest head count for the "K"?

Best in the West.
Re: #6. The Seattle players made the Chiefs look bad only because the Chiefs were outcoached twice last season. The KC coaching staff didn't make any adjustments in the first game to what Seattle was doing, and they continued to use the same plays to put up yards and points all game long. Unable to learn a lessen from the first game, the Chiefs went into the second game against Seattle with the exact same gameplan. ------------------ Red Eyes Chinn Up. The SitCom must die!! |

Win or lose, it will be a much different game this year.
Holmgren is not stupid enough to disrespect Elvis or our passing game. This may very well be the first time this year that we don't consistantly face eight man fronts and constant run blitzes. Right now, it's our running game that is untested, and I think Seattle will feel that it is our potential weak spot. If they can shut down our running game with only six, they can play nickle all night long and make our passing game a much tougher prospect. Personally, I don't think they can shut our running game down with anything less than eight, and I would love to see them try. Look for Moreau to have a breakout game on National TV. I also expect Dante Hall to show his stuff. Luz give moreau the ball...
|

Like Luz, I believe the answer lies with Moreau. However, if our ST play continues so poorly, then SEA could have a field day. I am impressed with the defense last week in wrapping up opponents instead of the usual attempt to push them to the ground; therefore, I don't see Watters having the game he had last time.

Seattle has yet to impress me. They have 2 close victories over weak teams. The only time they looked good was on offense in the loss against St Louis. They beat the Aints at home in a sloppy game and last week they beat the Chargers in a close game. They had 1 offensive TD last week in a play where the SD defense thought the play was dead after they jumped offsides. It was a 1 pt game in the 4th quarter when they ran back an int for a TD. Even though they haven't played well and look like the same team that lost 6 of it's last year, the game still worries me.

I think we'll win, but I don't see it being pretty. As already stated, our coaching staff is totally outmatched IMO. Holmgren vs Cunningham is worth at least a TD! Seattle are getting it together a bit and Watters will have his game-face on.
Our injuries also figure to pose a problem. Our pass-rush is severely weakened if Clemons and Hicks can't go. Also Bush has a bruised shoulder and we need him for the screen pass and to cover Fauria and Mili. Finally Seattle's secondary and STs are pretty good. On the flip side........ I think we can run the ball on Seattle better than we have up to now. I think we can really get to Kitna this year, possibly even without the aforementioned ends. Seattle has given up a boatload of sacks already this year. Our redzone D is excellent. Our defense can force turnovers as well as ever Homefield advantage, new found confidence in our passing game and a MNF Arrowhead atmosphere. Gonzo can have another huge game: Seattle's LBs are no better than Denvers although I can see Tongue doing a good job on him at times. Chiefs 24 Seagulls 20 |

Several concerns remain, however, as the Seahawks continue to let teams convert third down plays against them. And they also have a clear weakness against rushes up the middle.
From "USA Today", gotta love it if its right |
