The Buccaneers contacted the 49ers about trading Jeff Garcia. 49ers said they weren't interested but the question arises, although I know Herm/Carl won't do it. I'm kind of on the fence about it cause I don't think he'll improve the team that much.

Do you give a conditional pick to Tampa Bay for Jeff Garcia based on his performance?

If you were Garcia in his situation, would you rather stay in Tampa Bay and collect a check on the bench or go to KC and end your career inside of 3 quarters?

NO!

Even if we somehow cloned Joe Montana and John Elway together, that freakish beast couldn't save this team.

The QB isn't the issue! It's the head coach, the offensive line, the lack of experience, the assistant coaches, the GM, the owner, and gawd knows what else.

We need draft picks, not lateral moves.

No, I'm a miser when it comes to draft picks and Garcia has no real long-term value to the team. This year is lost; we need to start taking the long view. Changes we make from here on out should be made with future impact in mind- not winning two extra games this year to finish 5-11.

Although the more I think about this the more I am a little swayed by the though of Kelly Croyle and Carmella DeCesare (Jeff's wife) possibly getting together.

Even in rebuilding years a team should be competetive with the other cellar-dwellers, no? We got bullied by a Raider team that will likely finish 4-12 this year. Rebuild or no, that is outrageous.
