In case you were wondering, Axl Rose is still insane.
Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose has filed a countersuit against his former manager, claiming Irving Azoff and his company, Front Line Management, attempted to sabotage Rose's "new" version of GNR so he'd reunite with Slash and the band's classic lineup.
According to gossip site TMZ, Rose alleges in his $5 million countersuit that Azoff was "devising and implementing a secret plan to set up Rose and the band for failure so that Rose would have no choice but to reunite with the original Guns N' Roses' members," a move Axl had resisted. Rose also took issue with Azoff's decision to file his original lawsuit against William Bailey, the singer's real name -- something that "carries significant emotional damage from Rose's childhood." Azoff filed suit against Rose in March, claiming GNR owed his company $1.8 million, an amount equivalent 15 percent of the gross revenue earned by the band during its run of tour dates through Asia, Canada, and South America in support of their 2008 comeback album Chinese Democracy. Read SPIN's review of their 2010 Canadian tour kickoff here. http://www.spin.com/articles/axl-ros...sabotaging-gnr According to TMZ, Azoff -- who also serves as CEO for Ticketmaster -- has already responded to Rose's countersuit: "On advice of counsel I cannot respond at this time, but will discuss in my upcoming book, My Life with William Bill Bailey." Ouch! |

LOL at the idea that Axl is going to "succeed" without his original mates. What a little primadonna bitchbag. All that talent, and not a lick of sense to know what to do with it.

What I'd like to know is how does he expect to succeed when taking 15-20 years to put out a mediocre record, and then not really even touring in the US?

It's a shame. I loved Guns n' Roses.
I'm happy to see Slash doing his own thing, and succeeding at it. |

But he's still in Velvet Revolver. This was a one time thing. Edit: Quote:

Yeah, I've been meaning to check that album out. The only song I've heard off it is the one he did with M Night, the singer of Avenged Sevenfold. It's not bad, a little heavier than what Slash usually put out. I have heard that Fergie does a pretty good job letting her inner rocker out.

I don't know much about the this case but I can absolutely assure you that Irving Azoff is a Grade-A scumbag. From the Mafia-related business he did in the 80's while president of MCA Records (in which they never recovered and were finally closed altogether in the 90's) to other shit, the guy is a shyster extraordinaire.
And I kind of get all the "love" that Slash gets but he even admitted recently to falling back on the "opiate" wagon in Velvet Revolver, thus causing their breakup (and not Weiland). He was such a mess in GNR that Izzy quit. The quality of the music at that point went downhill and the band broke up. Axl's definitely a weird dude in certain ways. But he by no means was the guy that caused the GNR breakup. |

First off, Izzy wants no part. Steven is a wreck. Matt, as much as I like him and have always gotten along with him, rubs certain people the wrong way (i.e., singers). Duff's in Jane's Addiction now. Slash is out doing his thing, which is better than his previous thing (Snakepit) but isn't really anything "special". And Axl is Axl. He's got his own vision and his own thing. These guys have plenty of money. And quite frankly, most musicians/artists could care less about the money. It's about the art. And Guns 'N Roses will NEVER be GNR without Izzy. He was their main (and best) songwriter and the heart of the band and he wants no part of it. He was originally slated to be in Velvet Revolver but after just a few rehearsals, dropped out. There's no way he'd do a full-on GNR reunion. |

"Azoff -- who also serves as CEO for Ticketmaster"
As far as I'm concerned Axl can kill the guy and call it a convenience charge.

Dude, the number of people out here and in Nashville that are living and breathing music for no paycheck would astound you. 2% of the 98,000 albums released in '09 account for 91% of all sales. Only 2% sold more than 5,000 copies. http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/stor...narm2010_stats And I can't even tell you the number of set designers, actors, actresses, screenwriters and directors that I know, all very talented in the their own way, that are out of work and doing something other than their chosen craft to survive. |
