Ben Watson?
According to the Boston Herald, there's "not a lot of interest on either side" regarding the Patriots and free agent TE Ben Watson.
Watson topped Football Outsiders' per-play metrics for tight ends in 2009, but he was underutilized in a passing game that desperately needed another reliable target. The Pats seem to have lost confidence in Watson's come-and-go hands a couple years back, and his role has been decreasing ever since. He would benefit from a fresh start.

From the article: And apparently, Watson was more the choice of Scott Pioli than Bill Belichick on draft day, anyway.

He's a Patriot, so someone has to say it. The dude has talent, and he would be an upgrade over anything we have. Maybe a change of scenery would be good for him.
