I won't give everything away unless you really want me to. But Diaz's character is ****ed all the way up. There's a scene (you get a brief glimpse of it in the trailer) where she ****s -- yes, actually ****s, like vagina on the windshield, grinding to orgasm -- a car. And that's just one small example. The violence, as written, is graphic. Beheadings, obviously, but the shoot out in the truck "these guys aren't cops" is epic. There are snuff films, drug rings, there are brutal kidnappings... the opening scene is a sex scene between The Counselor and Penelope Cruz's character. As written, it's porn. I'm sure the images in the final cut won't be that graphic. But most straight men will have their blood pumping from the start. And then it just gets dark. Then it gets darker and darker.

Awesome, that's enough info for me, don't wanna spoil it all, but I do hope they did shoot the scenes in anticipation of a directors, uncut unrated or whatever you want to call it version for after it's theatrical release.

I hope the film is essentially true to the script/story. But the script is a mess in places. If this thing is done right it could clean up/fix the textual problems but still go all the places the script goes. And it probably depends on money and grosses and all of that, but I'll be surprised if there isn't some kind of unrated "director's" cut.

No worries. Still a valid point. And, yeah, I think it could go either way. The script is all over the place, but I like the cast for the most part. I'll see it.

With Ridley Scott, Brad Pitt, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem this should be a good movie. Will probably see it also.

Ridley Scott has always been hit or miss. But when he hits its usually pretty great.

Bummer. That would make two consecutive Ridley Scott movies I've been super-excited about seeing fall flat on their faces.

I'm kinda surprised its getting such bad reviews. I was so excited to see this when I saw the trailer back a few months ago, but now I'm on the fence about seeing it in the theater.
