Marion Barber, Jared Gaither,Rob Sims

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora was on the Around the League desk Monday, offering up some of the latest chatter he’s hearing on trades.
  • Executives around the league think Cowboys RB Marion Barber could be available, but he’s believed to be the least attractive player in a backfield that includes Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.
  • Multiple sources have said Ravens LT Jared Gaither is drawing interest and a second-round pick could get the trade conversation started. Gaither, a restricted free agent, was tendered with a first-round pick by the Ravens. Watch the Redskins, La Canfora says, especially if they pass on an offensive tackle with the No. 4 overall pick.
  • Another restricted free agent drawing interest from “several” teams is Seahawks guard Rob Sims. Keep an eye on the Bears. Sims was extended a fourth-round tender by the Seahawks.

The Ravens put themselves in a nice position with that Michael Oher pick. Gaither is a helluva piece of trade bait.

Well, we have 2 2nd round picks... sounds like we could afford to get Gaither. Would much rather do that than draft a ****ing T @ 5. If the Chiefs do draft a T at #5 when they could have gotten Gaither for a 2nd... I really don't know what I will do. Probably shit my pants from the frustration and screaming.

If I were you, I would probably put on a pair of depends then, because you are probably going to need them.

Damn this is awesome. Now we can trade for Gaither, move Albert to right tackle, and draft Bulaga to play guard. BEST LINE EVER!

Considering Brandon Spikes turned himself into a 4th or 5th rounder on top of that.

I'd trade a second for Gaither he's better than any LT in this draft.

Gaither is only twenty three and has played a few seasons. Plus he can play LT too.

Here's the question.

Why does it seem that the Ravens are so intent on moving Gaither?

I know they want to move Oher to LT, but why not simply flip flop positions?

Is it money?
