Hoover has made the best point so far -

If Fisher keeps ascending and plays to the potential the Chiefs saw in him when they drafted him, he would be out of their reach when it came time to resign him, particularly when faced with having to give new deals to Berry and Poe. This was a smart move. A bit of a gamble to be sure, but isn't every new contract handed out a bit of a gamble?

We shouldl all be gratful that Dorsey had the ability to lock someone up. Impossible to get a deal like this done with Poe considering the $ teams dish out to D-linemen.

Dorsey's a fricking stud. Best decision Clark ever made.

Yep.

I'd have liked to get Poe done as well, but it is what it is.

This is one of those situations where someone is getting paid on the valid expectation of future improvement/performance instead of past deeds. These kinds of deals are never as exciting to fans as signing someone who was a big-time player 5-10 years ago, but absolutely this was a good deal worth the risk and, if Fisher continues to improve, it's a great deal for the team.

I hated Fisher early in his career because he sucked early in his career. That wasn't the case last year. Glad for the guy.

Are you guys ****ing kidding me? its like nobody watched the NFL last year. Denver's success is entirely built on the pass rush. Oakland has an elite rusher.

Dorsey has found 4 good safeties off the scrap heap to play well.

Come on. This was a good move.

I always like these deals alot. When you do them this way, theres still a possibility of getting more value than you're paying for, if the guy keeps getting better.

In deals like Houston and what Berry is wanting, you're hoping they perform up to the deal money and aren't likely to get any added value.

Well, to be fair, Oaklands elite rusher had his way with this LT quite a bit last year.

Luckily, fisher seems to handle Denvers pretty well.

Oh, trust me. The Eric Fisher pick still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. The fact that it was our turn to get a #1 overall QB and he's the best thing we could do. The fact that the best thing we could do was save money on our future LT when the one we had was pretty good. The ****ing around with him at RT for a year, the lack of necessary offseason training due to surgery, the whiffs, the "nicks" here and there, the bullshit with Stephenson last year, all of it.

But he's here. We let go of Albert. He's our starter. And he played pretty damn well in the second half of last season.

There's no reason at all to NOT celebrate this extension. He gets his money, and we as fans can forget about LT until his wheels fall off.

If we ever again burn the #1 overall pick on a MAC-conference LT who won't be truly pro-ready until his 2nd/3rd year, trust me. I'll be that old guy.
