Joe,
Tell us how you really feel. I'm glad that it went KC's way, but I'm still NOT a fan of Instant Replay for any reason OTHER than were feet inbounds and where EXACTLY did the ball carrier stop moving. (both very inexact sciences especially with referee's these days.) Otherwise, either trust the refs to make the right call or hire new ones. ------------------ Misplaced Chiefs Fan Red and Gold on the Warpath Nightwolf Graphics |

Major props to whoever saw that in the booth and alerted Gun. Personally I didn't think the replay angles showed conclusive evidence that the play should be overturned. Hochuli must have the eyes of a hawk unless he saw that magnification.

IMO it was a bad call to overturn it, but hey...Whatever! Fauria shouldn't have to dive for a five yard pass anyway, when he is wide open like that...But still what a bogus replay. I'm sorry the Chiefs deserved to win the game , but that replay really was wrong IMO.....Joe
When Gun threw the flag I thought...OH SH&* He's lost it!! he just blew their final TO what an emotional tampon he is....bla bla bla...Then the replay reversal, and I said Hmmmm bad calll, but good move Gun.... |

Joe,
Bad call? Because of replay the CORRECT call was made! I'm just curious as to why Holmgren did not challenge Gonzo's TD. That one looked very close also. |

Gonzo's catch was ruled a catch...Good call IMO bad decision by Elvis, but TD none the less.. The catch by Fauria did not to me show conclusive reason to overturn, but Like I said in another thread, These calls are no excuse for us...Fauria should not have had to dive for that pass anyway! ......Joe<BR> |

It would be interesting to know if the refs have the option of seeing that special magnified vue. Joe, if it is any consolation I was shocked and amazed (and grateful) that it was overturned.

I H A T E instant replay....
Let the refs call the game and live with it... Ufortunately I think we're close to reaching the day of having a nerd reffing the game from the skybox using a monitor. |

I have always been for instant replay. People make the argument that it takes the "human element" out of the game but I disagree. There is plenty of instances where replay doesn't change the human element of the game - like on penalties, especially pass interferience, holding and so forth. If the right call is made because of replay in any game then IMHO instant replay has a place in the NFL.
Anyone remember Houston Oilers Receiver Mike Renfro's catch in the 1979 AFC Title Game at Pittsburgh? It was a catch but the refs ruled that Mike was out of bounds and did not have posession of the ball. Replays clearly showed otherwise and it changed the outcome of the game.Of course that was before replay but had they had it...who knows? BTW, the Oilers were issued an "Official Apology" by the league but guess who went on to win another Super Bowl? |
