Haha, that guy thinks teams would part with Marion Barber or Patrick Willis for Roy Williams. Williams is good, but no way would any team do that in their right mind. Barber is an RB and more easily replaceable, but still, he has been great for the Cowboys and has a knack for getting in the end zone. And they already have TO, Crayton (not sure about status of Glenn), I doubt they would have any desire to lose an RB to add an unnecessary WR. Plus, Williams has only made it through one season without injury.

Is this how the Chiefs are going to "shock the world" during the draft as Goatse mentioned? This is all talk, nothing else. Too much money committed in LJ.

Teams have been trying to take williams from the lions the past couple of years but they didn't want to get rid of him and i doubt they still do.
Williams however is tired of Detroit from speculation and would like to go elsewhere when his contract is up. It would be a good move for Detroit to get something for him while they can. |

So, we get Roy Williams, a first and a fourth for LJ, a third and a fifth.
This deal makes more sense if Darren McFadden falls to the Chiefs at #5. I am assuming they would pick up a OT (and prolly reach for him) with the 15??? Not sure I would like it, because we don't really need a RB. I'd rather draft a stud at a position of need, which is pretty much every position BUT RB. McFadden may be the BAA if he falls that far, tho. It would definitely be a shocker. |

8 responses so far ↓ sportsaddictforlife // March 25, 2008 at 2:51 pm Yeah, this one definitely makes more sense. It looks like this deal favors the Lions a little bit, but you’re right, a potential win-win trade. Yeah Right // March 25, 2008 at 5:56 pm You dopes think this is going to actually happen? Why not ask for the Chiefs 2nd and 4th round selections for nothing more in return, just to top it off. lmfao sportsaddictforlife // March 25, 2008 at 6:12 pm It’s called speculation. A trade is rumored to be happening and people then discuss what might be the ramifications of the deal. Da Plane! Da Plane! // March 25, 2008 at 6:12 pm Someone is living on Fantasy Island, you moron. Why would even think about “reporting” this? Carl Peterson is the single most inept GM in all of football, trumped only by your own Matt Millen, and not even he is stupid enough to entertain this “trade” for even a second. You must be in cahoots with that butthole Nick "The Erroneous One" Athan at WPI to come up with this drivel. I highly doubt that you are him personally, however, since you seem to have a rudimentary grasp of grammar and spelling. Hootie // March 25, 2008 at 6:37 pm I like this trade. Please do it Carl or I’ll never suck your dick again! Carl Peterson // March 25, 2008 at 6:38 pm Just to clear things up, we’re doing this deal to get rid of our good players, and bring in a guy with a valuble expiring contract. I learned this from the NBA. Bitches@ WakeUp // March 25, 2008 at 6:57 pm Take Larry Johnson out of the deal and it might just be fair. The Lions then may have a shot at McFadden. NA // March 25, 2008 at 7:17 pm Also Saunders will be announced the coach of the lions by Thursday…my sources tell me. NA |

Well, according to the schmohawk who invented this rumor, its not a 5th round pick, its the 5th overall pick, so we would be giving our first and third for their first and fourth, plus the player swap.
