I read this on the WPI forum-

K.C. is offering runningback Larry Johnson, their 5th overall and a 3rd round selection for wide receiver Roy Williams, Lions 15th overall and a 4th round selection.

You should be happy with the trade. With Roy you win a few more games. Without him you are still, Well, the chiefs.

Besides, having Roy on your side betters your chances of beating the Lions the next time the two face each other.

On the market Roy Williams does have more value than LJ does. I don't think there's much argument there, Williams could likely net a 1st rounder LJ isn't going to, a WR has more trade value than a RB with the 400 carry tread.

In general, that is true of an elite WR, but Williams gets injured every season. I don't know that his market value is the same as an elite WR who is never injured.

Ok he'd certainly still get more in a trade than LJ would.

Some of the comments just reminded me of last offseason, people seem to not understand what LJ's trade value is, it's not very good, it really never has been.

If the Lions gave us their first six picks and Roy Williams in exchange for LJ and the #5, then it might be a decent deal.

he is EASILY more valuable than LJ...every year there are 5-10 RB's that burst on to the scene as potential stars...a lot of them no one has ever even heard of, either...and shit, Kolby Smith outperformed LJ last year anyways...

It is hard to find a legit #1 WR in the NFL...Roy Williams has superstar ability if he can stay healthy...

That being said, I wouldn't touch this trade with a 20 foot pole...we signed LJ long term and now we're stuck with him, for better or for worse.
