Q&A with DAMION MCINTOSH - 8/18

Q&A with DAMION MCINTOSH - 8/18
Aug 18, 2007, 3:13:24 PM

Q: So the doctors are telling you that your injury will keep you out four-to-six weeks. Do you expect to be back for the season opener at Houston?

MCINTOSH: “We’ll see. Right now everything looks good and we are just working so I can play on a high level. It feels good now, but you never know how it can feel throughout the rehab process. I’m just keeping a positive outlook. That will be my goal.”

Q: You’re not on crutches anymore. What do the doctors have you doing for rehab work?

MCINTOSH: “I’ve been doing rehab ever since I got back from Wisconsin. I was on crutches for two days and from then on I’ve been attacking it and getting on top of it 24-seven.”

Q: Was this a knee sprain?

MCINTOSH: “It wasn’t a sprain. It was a second-degree MCL tear. It will heal on its own, so it’s nothing too major. It will heal back, it’s just going to take a little time.”

Q: Are you frustrated not being able to get involved with the practices and games?

MCINTOSH: “It’s frustrating. Nobody wants to get injured. I came here with a goal to gel with this line and do my part. It’s a small setback, but I’ll be back on my way soon.”

Q: It looks like they need you out there offensively.

MCINTOSH: “I hope so. I’m hoping that I’m going to be a key part of this offensive line and if I come in and do my part we can be a solid unit all together. I’ll be in there sooner or later, I just need to get myself healthy and in peak condition.”

Q: Are you keeping a careful watch so that you don’t return too soon and re-injure the knee?

MCINTOSH: “The training staff is an excellent group and they are making sure that I have a steady process. I’m healing up quite well. They are making sure I’m not doing too much. I’m trying to push it up to a certain point, but not too much.”

I briefly saw the clip on Hard Knocks where he went down, but it happened before I knew what play it was. Did anybody see what happened?

I just hope he can make it back by Week 2. I think we can win Week 1 without him, even though it would nice to have him.

Actually I'm pretty concerned that Mario Williams will just blow right past Svitek in Houston.

A rolling pocket? You're giving Herm too much credit.

I have a sinking feeling that the only rolling pocket this team knows is when the line rolls backwards on its ass.

Herm: "A rolling pocket? What? Oh, yeah, we rollin' alright! You see Brodie throw that ball last night? Call that boy butta cus he definitely on a roll, now. At the end of the day, if you can complete some passes, you rollin.' Next question!"

Williams sux. I watched him every play last week and he never got anywhere close to the quarterback. In fact his backup Jason Babin looks to be a better pass rusher than he is.
