My cousin is a Bucc

I got some good news today. My cousin, Elbert Mack (Troy), just got signed by Tampa Bay and will be flying down there this week.

I was hoping the Chiefs would have picked him up since we had a need at corner.

He led the NCAA in picks (tied with a few other people).
Looks like playing across from the 11th overall pick, Leodis McKelvin, gave teams a chance to scout my cousin as well.

I guess I just found a reason to pay attention to Tampa Bay. :-)

Nice. Tell him not to be like Pacman... after all Mons, Space Odyssey and others are right near Raymond James.

Raymond James is as nice a stadium to attend as I've ever seen. The layout, ammenities, patio, and field are first class.
And Tampa rocks.
Ybor City did us right.

Been a few years now, we went to see Iowa thrash the Zook Florida Gators in 2004.

Started off partying in Ft. Meyers for a couple days then drove up Alligator Alley to hit Tampa for a few days before game day.
Nothing but good to say about the town, people, and of course the very fine selection of ballet venues.
I still think Miami takes the cake as far as Florida ballet venues but Tampa is up there.

Of course nothing touches Miami. I tend to stay away from Ybor - don't want to get shot. It's gone downhill. Generally we go out in Hyde Park (South Tampa) or Channelside (downtown Tampa).

Congrats to your Cousin! Wish him luck. (he didn't sign for someone else in the AFC West so I have no issue with wishing him luck, lol)

Saints add CB Elbert Mack, waive DT Mitch King

Posted: Jun 05, 2012 10:52 PM CDT
Updated: Jun 05, 2012 10:52 PM CDT

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The New Orleans Saints and veteran cornerback Elbert Mack have agreed to a one-year contract.

General manager Mickey Loomis, who announced the acquisition of Mack on Tuesday when the Saints opened minicamp, says the club also has waived defensive tackle Mitch King.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Mack, who was a free agent, has spent his first four NFL seasons with Tampa Bay. He has five career interceptions and 77 tackles in 58 games and also has been a special teams regular.

Mack, who turned pro as an undrafted rookie out of Troy, appeared in all 16 games with one start for the Buccaneers last season, getting much of his work in five- and six-defensive back formations.

He intercepted two passes in 2011, returning one for a touchdown.

My cousin just signed a 1-year deal with the Saints! I was worried that he hadn't been offered a contract yet

It's too bad, Mack was a dude a lot of Buc fans rooted for. Now he joins the Aints.
