Pfft...
It doesn't matter one iota about position need as it relates to Dorsey's draft. They will take whatever name the Decision Lens spits out be it a OLB, DE, WR, S, RB, CB, whatever. They send an army of dudes out there to collect data to input into that software. Until it massively ****s up, Dorsey is going to stand on it in terms of selecting the BPA that his input into the computer says is the BPA. If there was any doubt that this was the case this draft should have erased it. (As well as his first Chiefs draft.) |

Dorsey doesn't go pure BPA. Need factors into 100% of his picks so far.
And we're going to have a huge need following the release of Flowers and Smith. |

However, it seems that need is a lot lower on the list than BPA at this point. Ford, Gaines and Murray were certainly not high "need" picks, but rather BPA and BPA as assessed by a certain physical parameter determined by Dorsey/DL data versus anything else (most likely as there were outwardly better players available, at least IMO, where these guys were picked as it relates to college production, etc.). In terms of cornerbacks and need, they just picked up Gaines in the draft. That's addressing that potential need that you've highlighted if Smith and Flowers are released as you've suggested. As such, that need has been mitigated to a certain extent. However, the WR position still remains the biggest hole on the roster in terms of potential long term production as it relates to personnel on the roster. Avery sucks. Jenkins is nothing but hope at this point. You hope that DAT is as least as good as McCluster was and pray for DeSean Jackson level productivity. He'll most likely beat out Dressler for that returner/slot guy, but I think he'll be in a battle with Albert Wilson, who is a dark horse to really make some noise on the roster IMO. Hemingway is a special teamer ace, #4/5 WR guy material and nothing more. The position is total shit. I'm still blown away about Gaines over Donte Moncrief. I think that was several magnitudes more of a **** up than Ford over S'ua-Filo. |

Nelson Agholor in the first would be perfect and make me feel much better about missing out on a WR in this years draft. Good size, hands, and speed. I think Reid would love him.

If he gets his shit together I'll be screaming for his name come draft day. Seems like a prospect Dorsey would covet. Great measurables with the tape to go with it and tremendous value.

Yup. He runs like a much smaller WR, not sluggish like most 6'4"+ WRs. He has great burst, especially for his size. And he has shown the ability to dominate in the red zone as well. If he stays clean this year, I want him in the 1st. IF he flubs with another weed incident, I'd still take him in the 2nd at worst or 1st if we have a 25 or later pick.
