I'd be damn bummed out if Christensen went to KU.

I hope Pinkel's keeping a chair warm for him at Faurot. That needs to be the guy we bring in to replace GP.

(But seriously, hire Sonny Dykes; damn good coach).

I'm not saying Christensen would be a bad hire as HC, I don't know. But I do know it wouldn't go over well in Jayhawk Nation. He's got a losing record at a small school (yes it's sample sized only being 3 years), but it's one of the main arguments people had against Gill when he was hired.

I think he'd be good but, like you're saying, I don't thing you guys can afford to hire a guy with a short track record again. Ex-MU OC + short track record would not be good PR for your fans.

With that amount of money already being spent and the fans with a low tolerance for stupidy this time around...

You have to hit a home run. The Fan support is there regardless of what people on the outside say. You get a solid coach and KU football will become profitable again.

I would love to see KU and MU both in the top 25 yearly and having historical battles out at CamaroMulletHead on a yearly basis...

There is no way KU hires a candidate that will be seen as a homerun. They may wind up with a great coach as judged a decade from now, but Tressel, Meyer, and Leach are the only "homeruns" out there.

That's only your opinion, and 2 of those I wouldn't necessarily call home-run hires... the third being a "Kansas has football?" candidate.

A homerun means you grabbed the absolute best guy (or one of a group of elite coaches). There are still good choices out there, but there isn't a single one who you would even consider if any of those three wanted the job. That's not an opinion. Its a fact.

Nope, that's an opinion that believe strongly in. Tressel and Leach are neither home run hires in my opinion.

Hence why one is "consulting" on an 0-11 football team, and the other is at powerhouse Washington St.

2 Good possible coaches, but far from the grandiose pick you are making them out to be.
