Dispelling the myth that we have to cut Cyrus Gray or Devon Wylie

That is nonsense. Garbage. Hippy bullshit. LIES.

We don't need to cut either player. And we won't. In fact, we can keep both those guys, everybody's favorite midget boyfriend ****ster McSuckstick, AND a FB that people supposedly think we need.

QBs- 3
RBs- 4
FBs- 1
WRs- 6
TEs- 3
OTs- 4
OGs- 3
C- 1
NT- 3
DE- 4
OLB- 4
ILB- 4
CB- 5
S- 4
K- 1
P- 1
LS- 1
________
52 roster spots filled

And that leaves one extra roster spot available for someone else. Probably a versatile swing DL like Amon Gordon, or maybe we keep Darryl Harris around as backup G/C so Lilja doesn't have to pull double duty.

Hell, imagine if Romeo says we don't need a FB and uses Steve Maneri as the H-back type blocking guy? You can keep Gordon AND include a shitty DB like Jacques Reeves, or one of the WRs that will get aborted like Jamar Newsome or Josh Bellamy.

The point is there are tons of available places to siphon off spots to make room for Gray and Wylie. What was it Herm said? You keep the best players on your roster, even if it means you wind up with 10 RBs. Here we're only keeping 4. Maybe 5.

QB
Matt Cassel
Brady Quinn
Ricky Stanzi

RB
Jamaal Charles
Peyton Hillis
Cyrus Gray

If all players are healthy on gameday, determining the inactive list will be pretty difficult. Some quality players will not see the field- quality players that could contribute on special teams or make other fantastic contributions.

I'm convinced that Wylie is going to be a returner for us. I don't think you keep him inactive. The list will probably look a little something like this:

(Again, assuming all the players are healthy):

3rd QB
Our 53rd player not listed in the OP
Donald Stephenson
Jerrell Powe (or possibly even Dontari Poe if he's really not ready for action yet)
DaQuan Menzie
Cyrus Gray
Andy Studebaker

We still need one more inactive player, and I can't think of a guy I'd want to put on there. We can't put Pitoitua on there if we're already losing depth by putting Poe or Powe on there. We're already counting on Travis Daniels playing double duty at CB and S, so it would be unwise to keep Jalil Brown inactive, since he's also very valuable on special teams. It might have to be someone like Cory Greenwood, but then we're only one deep for TWO positions at LB.

Know who SHOULD be inactive but won't be? ****ing Dexter McCluster.

In light of that last post, I'm thinking it's more and more likely that Romeo doesn't keep a FB, and goes into the season with just 4 RBs and 3 TEs. That makes 2 extra roster spots. Give them to Amon Gordon and let's say Darryl Harris. Keep Harris inactive on gameday and then make Pitoitua the 8th inactive player, so Gordon can add his versatility to the mix on the defensive line.

That means you're going in with 6 DL- Dorsey, Toribio, Jackson, Gordon, Bailey, Poe/Powe. And two of the backups play inside or out.

That's about the best you can do, I think.

Looking at that roster breakdown SNR put up...damn we got a good team. Replace Cassel with a good QB, and this team is elite without a doubt.

We're set to go. I'm not worried about injury problems with this offensive line. We'll take a step back, but that's to be expected with ANY injury.
I don't like the idea of playing Lilja at center.

He's already declining inplay at guard, and there's no way in hell he takes on the added responsibility of center and doesn't hurt this line's overall play more than a dedicated backup center.

I'd rather just cut Lilja altogether, go with rookie Jeff Allen at guard, and keep both Daryl Harris and Rob Bruggeman on this roster as depth, since both can play both center and guard.

That being said, I know that is not how this works out, so I keep either Harris or Bruggeman on the roster.

We still have a ways to go, some of these guys might suck shit the rest of the PS.

But, if Powe, Poe and Toribio play consistently, I think you keep all three.

Definitely. Outside of QB, NT is STILL the position with the biggest question marks on the team. Even though we heard ZERO reporting being done about Jerrell Powe in training camp, the guy looked really good last night. Far better than did Poe playing out of the 0.

Since the Chiefs refused to answer the questions this offseason, they can't afford to cut Toribio or Powe. They have to keep both of them.

Wow. I'm shocked. Are you sure Pioli just wasn't messing up when he said RT? I saw Allen lining up at the LT spot in the 4th quarter after playing guard most of the 2nd half. That's also the position he played all of college. I have no clue why they would play him at RT.

As an attempt to ditch Mims/Willis completely maybe?
