I'd have to agree, KU is being rewarded for not winning their division and by not having to play OU. The Cotton Bowl is brutal, 10 in the morning in a dump of a stadium with a senile Pat Summerall calling the game. The Holiday Bowl is a better bowl than that.

Best guess at BCS logic?
KU was ranked #2 and lost to a #4 ranked Mizzou. Mizzou was ranked #1 and lost to a #10 OU; therefore KU lost to a better team than MU lost to making KU the better of the two...by BCS logic.
