Leadership.......Where is it?

Something I brought up in another thread and thought deserved to have a thread......

Where the hell is the leadership on the Chiefs? Where are our players that are the team leaders? We don't have any...we don't have Ray Lewis or Tom Brady....it's a major problem.

Kawika Mitchell may think he's a leader but he's not. You have to do your job and be a good player and have the respect of everyone to be a leader and hold people account for their mistakes. Perfect example when he got in the arguement on the sideline with the DB's and they straight up looked at him like "**** you get out of here". They don't respect him....no Ravens player would ever do that to Ray Lewis we all know that.

Someone will probably throw out Larry Johnson but he's not a team leader either....he may run his mouth after games or about things he doesn't like but he's not a team leader in the sense that we need a player to be....of course he doesn't care enough to be a complete player either.

We have nice guys like Trent Green and Tony Gonzalez.....Where they play and don't say much..if you **** up in NE, Tom Bradys gonna be on your ass. We don't have that......

Until the Chiefs find some real leadership in the locker room they are going to continue to be a team that just plays, doesn't feel accountable to the rest of the team and folds when things get tough......like Cleveland. There's a reason things like that happen every single year.

There is leadership but with carl around it for the most part crushed till carl leave we will never have true leadership.

Trent is the leader of this team...

But if he's smart he'll be playing in Jacksonville next year...

Sad but true...

Not a fair comparison. Mitchell hasn't stabbed two people to death...er...been with associates who stabbed two people to death.

This comes right back to the organization. The whole reason Lewis and Brady have that kind of clout is that everyone on those teams knows if you f**k with them you'll be looking for a new team and it might not wait for the end of the season. Chiefs players all know full well that sucking is acceptable.

I don't think we have as many criminals/leaders on the team as Baltimore, but we could always re-sign Vanover and Bong Morris for next year to provide leadership.

Why would Trent want to come to Jacksonville where there is even less of a receiving crew there than KC? Why would Jacksonville even want a 36 year old QB to come to a new team when they have already have a QB controversy with Garrard & Leftwich?

Just got through watching the 'America's Game' episode on the 1994 49ers. All I can say is, I wish we had a QB with the fire of Steve Young.

The remark that stuck out, and I'm paraphrasings, but he said "it's about the SB. Without the SB, at the end of the day, you pick up your little trinkets, your MVP, your passing records, this milestone, that milestone, and put them in your little bag and go home. But you win that SB, and now your bag is a Hall of Fame bag and that's forever."

BTW, in case I haven't said it, that America's Game is the best thing to happen to TV since Deadwood.

All the players say that Trent is pretty much the undisputed leader on Offense, even so much so that they still called it his team when he was out for weeks. But I guess that isn't good enough for you.

D, well that is an issue we have known for a while. It would be nice if DJ would step up, as he has the play making ability to be looked up to as a possible leader.
