OK, I'll give you my opinion on why I believe other sports require more skill. IMO there are many other athlete's in other professional sports who, if they were so inclined, could play and excel at professional soccer. This would require practice of course, but I just don't see anything in the game of soccer that would be too difficult for many elite athletes to master.

On the other hand, I don't see the same transition being possible for many professional soccer players. Pitching a baseball, hitting a baseball, controlling a puck while skating, hitting a golf ball accurately, etc. . . are skills that I don't believe many normal humans can do at an elite level.

There's plenty of skill and strategy involved in playing soccer. There's skill in playing any sport at a high level. Sometimes soccer fans try way too hard to justify their sport. There's no way on earth it's more difficult to play than hockey. Most people can't even skate properly. Then you have to manipulate a 3 inch puck with a stick, the game is moving 100 mph, you have to put the puck in a much smaller goal past a goalie that is wearing as much armor as legally possible... and while doing this the other team is trying to take your head off.

I never said anything to the contrary and have been respectful about other's views towards soccer and the skill required to play the sport.

All sports require a certain "skill set." Defining that level of difficulty in acquiring that skill set is a grey area when comparing across sports.

But if you don't think hitting major league pitching is one of the hardest eye/hand coordination skill sets to acquire, you are just plain ****ing reeruned. That means you Aturnis...you are coming off well below sub 70 on this argument.

Yep. Many say hitting a fast ball is the hardest thing to do in all of sports.

That was another odd argument. I agree the average person couldn't get out there and play with the Brazilian national team. The average person couldn't step into the box and hit Justin Verlander either. We've had all these arguments before... but soccer just doesn't move as fast as some other sports.

I believe pitching is the greatest skill in baseball. Nobody has really brought that up until now. Everyone wants to talk about hitting.

That's because hitting is reactive. You don't know what the pitcher is going to throw or the location where he's planning to throw it. You have about 4 tenths of a second to figure it out.
