I will be paying my graduate loans for a while and the wife would kill me if I took out another loan for a 3rd degree.

Just wanting to know who is an engineer? Are you in the field...? Looking to get into it?

Yea just curious to see who on here are engineers. I quit my job acouple months ago, took out a student loan and am back in school for an enginerd degree. was always interested in science and never was bad at math. hated my bullshit finance job /didn't feel like it was taking me anywhere so said **** it and pulled the trigger before it was too late

I don't know anything about KU's engineering program but good for you realizing that the change of course you took will benefit you in the long run. Excel at doing the work and you won't have to worry about long term employment. You'll be set for life.

Mining engineer here. Not many of us around, and there is a huge labor shortage on the horizon. I'm 33 and there are hardly any mining engineers between myself and the 55+ crowd. Pay is usually petroleum engineers, but ahead of most other kinds. Not many schools have a program, but if you're a Missouri person then there's a good program at UMR.
