A few have suggested it, might as well test the waters. The idea is to give people who haven't read the books a safe place to talk about the show.

A few quick ground rules:
  • No Spoilers!!!!! for upcoming episodes.
  • Larger Song of Ice and Fire discussion should be limited to the other thread although I think a tiny bit of book delving to fill in holes should be okay (example of this would be talking about Catelyn and her treatment of the wolves in the novel, which was alluded to on TV but never really made clear...)
  • Everything that happened that week is fair game once an episode airs. So if you don't watch on Sunday night, I'd stay outta here until you do...

It does seem that way. Not much for them to do with Victarion (sp?) out of the picture. I have no problem with that, generally speaking, of course. Not a big deal.

Of all the characters to be denied redemption, I'm not sure how I'd feel watching Theon get the opportunity..

I may be getting ahead of myself, but if Stannis is able to take Winterfell who does he appoint as Warden of the North? It seems his allies are in short supply and he's not the forgiving type.

They aren't really needed anymore. I mean ultimately Balon was the one leading the charge to take the iron throne and throw his hat in as the 5th of the 5 kings.

The series has said he's dead via Mellisandre so we can just assume that he died, somebody else sits the Seastone Chair and that is that. Asha/Yara has been run out of Winterfell and seems no longer interested in Theon as evidenced by the fact that she said he was dead when she returned to her ship.

So send her back to Pike and close the door on the Ironborn for the rest of the series. Without Euron or Victarion in the show, there's no need for them. The role that Victarion/Ironborn seemed destined to play can now be handled by the Stormcrows in Meereen.

It's just another example of the show being much tighter and ultimately better done than the books. The ironborn were a boring, gangrenous arm. Benioff and Weiss have gone ahead and amputated them, as Martin should have done 2 books ago.

Rickon.

He's not dead, he's just missing. We have 2 seasons AFTER this one to find him. Looks like the series has him chilling with the Umbers and I don't imagine there's any reason they'd keep him in hiding once the Bolton's are ousted. He'd be about 14 yrs old now by the television chronology, would he not?

Sansa's also a possibility but I'm pretty sure the laws of Westeros still put the later born son ahead of the daughter and Stannis is nothing if not a stickler for the rules.

Haven't read the books. I keep wondering if the Lord Of Light is gonna show up? I mean....the hot momma, whatever her name is, she does have magical powers or whatever. We've seen that. So I keep wondering if the Lord Of Light is real and gonna make an appearance?
