Good, Plummer doesnt impress us either, nor cutler

Broncos | Cutler struggling; not pressing Plummer
Thu, 6 Jul 2006 16:38:21 -0700

ESPN reports Denver Broncos rookie QB Jay Cutler is struggling with the team's offense. He does not appear close to challenging QB Jake Plummer for the No. 1 quarterback spot

I am not aware of any Bronco fan in his right mind that thought, or wants, Cutler to be the starter this year.
I am excited to have Cutler on the squad in a learning capacity but in no way would I want a rookie to start.
Denver got within one game of the SB last year with Plummer, there is no QB controversy in Broncoland.

FWIW I remain on record as believing that Cutler will have a vastly superior career to Croyle. I liked Croyle's guts at 'Bama but the kid does not have the frame or the durability to make it big-time in the NFL IMHO.
In the right system a rookie QB can be good. Big Ben did pretty well his rookie season.

No doubt. The Denver in me says "no rookie QB starts his first year"
The 30 year NFL fan in me says "the great ones did."

Honestly lately a couple of second year QB's have gone on and won SB's.

Tom Brady and Big Ben.

They do have a good defense in Dungver, which is the real reason that these two butt pirates won SB's so quickly.

(OK, maybe "vastly superior" is vastly exaggerating)
I'll go on record and say Cutler will be just another Jake Plummer...he's got plenty of physical skill, just doesn't have what it takes upstairs...

He graduated Vanderbilt. Plummer went to Arizona State.

One is the Harvard of the South, the other is the Southwest Missouri State of the West.

On what so you base your opinion that Cutler doesn't have it upstairs?

That doesn't mean he has football smarts. Jay Fiedler went to Dartmouth.

He is referring to the spiritual attic, Mr. vailpass.

Cutler is a demon-worshiping, blood drinking, satanistic follower of Azazel. Probably one of the reasons you guys drafted him so high.
