If there is a silver lining in all this, it's that Pioli's consistent history of total, absolute screw ups is not likely to end. It's in his nature.

Eventually, he will make a blunder of such magnitude that Clark will have no choice but to send him packing.

Yeah, eventually he'll trade for and overpay the wrong QB, or hire two bad head coaches in a row or something.

The purpose of a 3-year contract extension would be to give Pioli another chance with a rookie QB.

I guess I can see the logic in that.

But still, **** him.

No worse than if we would have taken Sanchez or Clausen. We won't take Jones at the top of the draft. If Pioli has at least shown one thing, it's that he doesn't like to spend high draft picks on mediocre QB prospects. And now he may just have a chance to get an actual difference maker at the position.

And what exactly has he shown you that makes you think that he'll actually take that shot?

FFS.....that asshole drafts QBs on the 3rd day of the draft hoping for Tom Brady version 2.0.

I understand that. He still hasn't passed up anyone who I'm all that upset about him passing up as far as QBs go. Yeah, he could/should have been more aggressive in trading up, but I think this will likely be his first real shot.

This is very true, although with the new rookie salary cap, had they taken either of those guys, it wouldn't have been cost prohibitive to take another stab at the position in 2013.

I just hope that the Chiefs do everything, and I mean everything, possible to nab Geno Smith.
