Could injuries make this team better?

We now have some injury concerns with parker (knee) and McCleon (groin).

The coaching staff seems hell-bent on sticking with these guys, for whatever reasons. Yes, Parker did play better yesterday than he has all seaosn. But he's also played poorly in previous outings. And we all saw how bad McCleon played yesterday.

Could this team be better with Boerigter and either Warfield or Washington being forced to start?

I know you never want to wish injuries on anyone. But I'm not sure the coaching staff is going to get their head out of their ass and realize they may be shooting themselves in the foot by leaving McCleon out there, and possibly even Parker.

I like Parker, don't get me wrong. I'm just not sure if we wouldn't be better off by starting Boerigter as our possession guy opposite Kennison, and having Parker be our No. 3 and deep threat.

And no one can convince me we are better off with McCleon starting in the secondary...

I was happy that Boe held onto the ball yesterday, I remember his second year he made Parkers hands look solid.

I was actually going to start putting little bricks in my sig pic for every ball Parker dropped in a given week, but he actually held on yesterday to everything that was catchable.

I have to wonder if Hicks would go down if Hall and Allen would be a better combo, assuming Hall can stay healthy.

They could, but....

How about this? Even if their injuries don't put them on the bench....maybe the coaches can?

I mean, Parker is still young and learning (hopefully), but there is no excuse for McCleon at this point. Sit their butts down; maybe that will light a fire under them. Or it may help us find more capable replacements--eg, Boerigter, Warfield, or Washington, etc.

well, maybe. But we cannot afford an injury on the D-Line. There are already enough questions there as it is. A key injury to the DL could really kill us.

And I guess there's always the Vermeil standard, "a guy cannot lose a starting job because of an injury" that we would have to deal with as well

It looked to me like McCleon has been playing with two pulled hamstrings all year...

To answer your question....unfortunately, yes...

It is quite clear to all that Vermeil has the emotional stability and logical thinking of a 13 year old teenage girl on her first menstrual cycle. He can't make an unemotional, logical decision if his life depended on it. He falls into a man crush with someone at the drop of a hat and easily gets scorned and holds grudges to match.

He clearly wouldn't have accomplished as much as he has as a football coach if he weren't a good football mind but his complete inability to make personnel decisions without emotion holds this team back.

If Parker and McCling-on are out for a couple weeks there is little doubt in my mind that the team won't be better off.

Putting others on field can't hurt.

Bo looked good yesterday. Parker injury sucks. Depth and speed will force Dante into some of the passing situations (deep routes) he would get.

McPasson. welcome Warfield back to start with chance to prove himself.

McClown hurt his groin??? Did he leave it on the field after letting everything get by him, or when he held so they could not get past him???

Dewayne Washington was about to give up the game-tying TD if Sammy Knight hadn't saved his ass.

Dexter McCleon > Dewayne Washington.
