I don't think he could play in today's league, no. The game is just too fast and those guys weren't exactly elusive.

However, IMHO they were way tougher back then before all the pussified "protect the bitches" rules came out.

I wouldn't argue with the claim that Lenny wasn't a franchise QB.

He was, however, a very good system QB that managed the game a shit ton better than Mike Livingston.

Actually, Dawson was pretty quick and elusive.
His mobility is the reason that Hank Stram created the moving pocket.
