****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

Dylan Thompson will start at QB for South Carolina. Shaw "might dress" according to Spurrier.

Sharieff Rhaheed, Dewayne Hendrix, & Markel Smith all visiting this weekend. Sharieff not anywhere near a decision, Hendrix likely down to Tennessee and Mizzou (and a Tenn lean, due to family), but Smith appears to want to commit. He wants to see how the coaches feel about his previous de-commitment and the other backs already in the class. HUGE weekend.

Also, I have a friend that works fairly closely with the SC athletic department. He said that Clowney is a different guy (so far) this week. He's ready to go off under the lights against a team that has some players that get after the QB. It appears that the beast has awakened, if only for a week. Fortunately, Britt's work on the outside has been outstanding, but he'll definitely have his hands full.

They get more yards, but they risk turning it over...and they have turned it over a ton.

This defense is legit.
I guess it depends on how you want to spin things. Yards are yards, you either stop people or you don't. If they were all garbage yards I would be with you but they aren't. This team scores to win and the defense to it's credit plays well enough ahead and can get to the QB. But as soon as the offense went into a shell in the 2h at UGA for instance the yards and points started piling up in the wrong direction in spite of the Bulldogs being completely toothless at the skill spots. The front 4 is nasty no question about it. You could take some of those dudes and slap a LSU jersey on them and they wouldn't look out of place which is obviously tremendous. But the back 4 to me still looks to me like it can be exposed by teams that have better skill talent and can get the ball down field. Fla obviously cannot against anybody. GA would have healthy and still piled up lots of yards w/ scout team players. Vandy is Vandy and in spite of that moved the ball in the 2h of that game as well. And those weren't garbage yards, had the offense not been running like a freight train putting up 50 that game would have gotten tricky.

Get back to me after they deal w/ aTm, SC, and Ole Miss. Those three games will paint a much clearer picture as those schools have the ability to hurt us in the passing game.

The OOC slate was terrible, not getting into it unless you want.

That's not really how I define legit but you may prefer to use the term more liberally than I.

His numbers from last year are pretty good but he was bad at UCF in his only extended time this yr.

In fairness to Mizzou, the 2nd half yards to Vandy were mostly 'chuck it to Matthews' yards.

Granted, they still count, but Matthews might be the toughest matchup in the conference.

Think Mizzou is a fluke? Don't have talent?! Think again. Since 09 in all of CFB, only Bama & Florida have more 1st rounders than Missouri.

Only 35.5? Did their QB get hurt or something?

Ha...the main thing I remember about ENDelt is that photo of him passed out and someone photo shopped it with him wetting his pants. At least I *think* it was photo shopped.

Everything you posted is spot on with Pinkel....but the above is true with just about any coach. Not really indigenuous to just him.
