Chiefs Interesting Comments from Turk McBride

He was 610 this morning and said a few interesting things. Here's a few paraphrases:

1. The locker room chemistry and camaraderie is the best he's seen during his 3 years with the team. The 610 host seemed surprised and the conversation went something like this:

Host: "You've always said that you liked Herm and that he was a players' coach. You mean to tell me that a strict disciplinarian like Haley comes in with a no-nonsense attitude and the team chemistry is better?"

McBride: "Absolutely. We are working much harder that we ever have. And when you see the guy next to you working so hard, it brings you together & makes you want to work harder."

2. McBride said he hasn't been this slim since high school and that he feels great and is much more mobile. His shoulder is still sore, but getting better.

3. Believe it or not, McBride played WR in high school. He caught the winning touchdown pass in the state championship. His brother threw the pass to him, which I thought was pretty cool. Mom & dad must have been pretty excited.

That's not much, but it's all I caught.

McBride seems like a decent kid. I'm hoping he pans out, but I'm not real optomistic.

It happens every time. While the coaches are here they are the greatest but as soon as they leave all these problems are getting fixed.

I always hate this time period. Everything sounds great and is exciting, but I really want to see if all of the "things are going great!" comments are reflected on the field.

However, I can say that I was always pretty skeptical about the news I was hearing when Herm started. I'm much more on the Haley bandwagon than I was with Herm.

Between Thigpen, Kolby, Pollard and now McBride it's been a ****ing parade of garbage around here lately. I wish they'd all just shut their traps and try to become football players.

He didn't really say anything wrong that I saw there. It isn't like he said something like "mark us down for ten wins". At least he is in decent spirits I suppose versus just perhaps seeing the writing on the wall. Maybe we luck out and he can help in certain situations.
